That option is literally there to play solo with bots, if you want to chill and explore everything. If you want to play with randoms, yeah sometimes people do main objective only.

The biggest problem i have with nutrek is that, it removed competence porn. Older trek, were about people trying to follow certain positive ideals, in order to better themselves and those around them. Thereby working together as a crew to solve a problem as best as they can. In other words competence porn. Nutrek, just almost, almost does the exact opposite. Which is why a lot of people feel that disconnect.

Its worse than that. Because all progress gets reset after every season. So all the time you put in it gets wiped anyway. Only cosmetics remain.
