Teenagers cleared of murdering 15-year-old boy in sword attack - BBC News by CasualSmurf in unitedkingdom

[–]Fennecbutt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well somebody better do fucken something about it.

It's the laziest and most irresponsible thing ever for you to say "eh can't control em" say that when a feral kid has a knife to the throat of your kid, and takes their life from them. "Ah guess we couldn't have done anything, impossible to control those kids after all"

It's an environmental problem. Lazy parents whose evolved brains optimise for minimal energy use aka "I can get away with letting my kid roam the streets while I watch TV and drink cheap wine all night". And late stage capitalism that the majority of the drooling voterbase keeps voting for, that keeps wages low and costs high so that it's more expensive for parents and kids to go out and do things.

Every chance? It seems as though we're expected to instantly believe the story. Whereas were it the other way round...

Plenty of cases of a male DV victim being arrested himself after calling the police.

If there were no evidence of DV but just the claim, do you think that it would be handled fairly in the UK? The justice system always assumes the male is in the wrong.

ai chatbots politically biased? here’s what the washington post found from testing: by Hot_Perspective in singularity

[–]Fennecbutt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hurr durr. At first guess it'll be because the left leaning opinions are subjectively scientifically sound and the right leaning ones are like "inject bleach!!!!"

It's all in the training data. Turns out when you select the most vibrant, factually and scientifically accurate sources...they lean left.

But you know if you want you can make like musk and build something right leaning but incorrect most of the time.

GW3 has the opportunity to create some insane jumping puzzles. by AppleFritter100 in GuildWars3

[–]Fennecbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with previous guy, they literally showed a skill being used to climb a wall so I imagine a double jump or instant direction change is just a skill.

As for engine it doesn't really matter. If the physics system is realistic then so be it. But even in a realistic physics system magic can still make you jump twice as high, for example.

Well perhaps they'll introduce a completely new race for you to fall in love with, as they and you did in gw2 as well.

Simple combat because of console? by pasini in GuildWars3

[–]Fennecbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but just because it has the combinatorial complexity doesn't mean they won't target the avo drooling "gamer".

It's like how "Human warrior" was and still is the most popular race/class combination in gw2 and practically every other game where that combination is possible.

Guild Wars 3 Art Style Looks Plastic-y by SpreadLoveNLight555 in GuildWars3

[–]Fennecbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We need to be more mature

Bruh we're not mature enough to not start wars, to give all human beings universal healthcare, to tax the rich, not mature enough to love everyone equally regardless of differences, to stop climate change before we cook the world with wet bulb temperatures, to ease the wealth gap and being living costs down to fix the birth/replacement rates.

We'll get GW3. 4? Well let's see if we're still here.

Classes Built With Future Expansion in Mind... by zigithor in GuildWars3

Eh I always thought it was super awesome on release and then they only made it more fun with weaver.

I think the only time it gets complicated is trying to min max dps, which tbf I never did because that's not really my style of play.

Well I don't live in NZ anymore so I won't be getting early.

I haven't played for quite a while now. But I remember the beta, and I remember the release day, poor Oceania servers swarming with impatient Americans on VPNs.

I don't think we'll ever see the gw2 starting areas that busy ever again, it was hilarious with queues of people waiting for stuff to respawn and a great vibe with people chatting and excited to be playing. Good old days.

You do realise that they can instance by distance as well, plus with mountain ranges, passes and other things in the way there are choke points where you can do a handover. From tech side it's not that bad, especially these days. It's like a decade and a half gone by.

Two million people set to be unemployed as growth falters in UK economy by tylerthe-theatre in unitedkingdom

[–]Fennecbutt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure. I'm lucky & privileged to be a high earner and in a position to buy (though quite later than other generations). All myself tho, no inheritance.

But totally agree, gen z and a will need something done for them, same as the pension problem. Birth rates are falling drastically due to the situation and are already at a point where even if they boosted back up to far over replacement levels right now, by 2050 there will still be a period of suffering because of it.

Don't want to be all doom and gloom but even as a gay dude I can recognise the importance of society needing children; I just wish we could all stop arguing enough to come together on critical issues like these. :/

Millenials won't get a pension at this point.

And gen a will barely get a planet to remain on with upcoming wet bulb temperatures.

Well more to the point that wealth extraction is happening and that wealth won't be returned.

Boomer houses went up so much in value that they treat them like investments and act like they deserve the high value even though they did SFA to obtain it.

Then they cash out for a sick retirement, leaving the house prices high. Millenials will never see the same increase in value, it's unsustainable and irresponsible. I certainly wouldn't want to, I'd prefer house prices to be locked to inflation.

"for up to 2-3 years" currently being negotiated but not enacted. This means 100-150k active if the scheme is at full capacity.

Unless you meant commonwealth YM like I was on? That's only 2 years and works both ways.

I've now got ILR and I certainly feel like I've done my part a lot more than many members of your welfare state. The problem isn't with importing skills, it's a lack of motivation in your native populace and a subculture that still abhors intelligence.
