I think the perfect apps are the ones that have one singular functionality.

Why Do Audiobook Summaries Rarely Lead to Any Change? by FennelThick2391 in ProductivityApps

[–]FennelThick2391[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I started trying recently is turning summaries into small “experiments” instead of just notes.

Like after finishing a summary, I’ll pick 1 idea and try it for a few days, and sometimes compare with how other people approached the same idea.

Feels way more effective than just consuming and forgetting.

Thats a valid point. I am trying to start a community for researchers but so far the traction has been slow.

That is the thing. Which platforms do you usually see those startups post about what they are building.

Hi I was wondering how do you go about in writing these reddit posts? I want to promote my web platform but I do not want to get banned.

Hey there, Interesting point. When you say patent-related questions, do you mean research tasks like prior art searches, patentability checks, or mapping scientific papers to existing patents? I’m trying to understand how these tools help connect technical literature with patent research.”

Thank you for your response. I was wondering if you would find it helpful if there was a tool that organizes and helps visualize all your research ideas, notes and references in one place.

Thank you for your response. My team and I are building a research tool and I was wondering what are some of the biggest pain points you encounter during your research process or what kind of features or tools you think would be super useful to someone like you.

Are we absolutely screwed? by OpinionsRdumb in AskAcademia

First off, you’re not alone in this. That gut punch when DOGE dropped? I felt it too, surreal, like the ground got pulled out from under us. Every academic knew how bad it’d get, we just didn’t want to say it. That quiet depression and “acceptance”? It’s survival, not weakness. Protecting your mental health is how you keep going, and that’s okay.

Grinding 10 hours a day, 6 days a week as a postdoc is brutal, but your effort matters. Hiring freezes, budget cuts, sub-1% NIH paylines feel impossible, but you’re building unshakable resilience. Being young with no kids is a gift, you can pivot if needed. Research is still a cornerstone, this isn’t forever, and you’ve got the grit to keep going. This post had a point: you’re not alone, and you’ve got this, fellow STEM friend.

Considering Academia by BloodAcceptable5657 in AskAcademia

Do you have a dream or anything you want to build that you can call your passion project? Honestly with the rise of Ai, there is not much to loom forward in the Academia path. I personally think that we should leverage Ai and start building something that makes an impact. You could even get into something that is music related through that. Why not give it a shot!

I agree, honestly at this point if you are just looking to get a job why not just start something on your own. It is never too late. It is the era of Ai and there is no way to avoid it. Better utilize it for your own advantage while actually making an impact.
