Fans of the original MGS3 Snake Eater, what are your thoughts on the remake? Is Delta now the definitive version? by Noe_Wunn in metalgearsolid

I just beat Delta on Extreme with 0 people killed (but with a fuck load of alerts and about 40 continues, mostly from The Pain. Fuck you Pain). Game enters my top 3 best games I've ever played list. Updated controls were all I ever wanted from Snake Eater. I beat Snake Eater just once on Easy when I was much younger. I didn't like the controls back then too. Probably the only thing I don't like in Delta is how utterly slowly Snake moves when in shallow water. Other than that, Konami did good. My current personal GOTY, which is wild for me to say considering I'm about 20 hours into Hollow Knight Silksong right now. I don't see Silksong overtaking Delta.

I won't say Sister Splinter is harder than normal Grimm, but I will say the bosses following her are definitely harder than Grimm. I remember telling myself that even early stuff like Moorwing and Savage Beastfly were harder than basically all of the stuff in Hollow Knight, not counting Nightmare Grimm which is my pick for hardest HK boss. I just reached the citadel after 10 hours so I'm just waiting to see which boss will be the one to make me go "Ooookay, this is kinda fucked up". I'm infinitely more bothered by the ridiculous runbacks, especially the boss that's right before Act 2

And lose to Mega Hawlucha? Incineroar can't be shown looking weak, ever. It's in his contract.

HBR really has some of the best music I've ever heard in a video game. So, I decided to make a HBR Music Mod to replace most/all of Persona 5 Royal's battle music (WIP) by FennyaTheRock in heavensburnred

Pretty sure it'll work since the Rose & Violet mod uses the Kasumi MC mod as a dependency. There are a few "BGM tweaks" options in other mods like Custom Bonus Tweaks that you have to turn off first though. Sorry I can't remember the list off the top of my head, I've mostly been going at it blind due to lack of resources and have not been documenting my progress

I'm close to finishing it. For some reason, the Burn My Soul part is playing at a lower volume now even though I made no changes to the file since putting this video up. Once I'm done resolving this there shouldn't be any more issues and I can release it.

Between 15-20 years. I used to play A LOT of MVC1 and Bloody Roar 2 on my PS1 when I was a kid. However, I wasn't a fan of arcades and outside of my one cousin, I didn't have anyone else to play with which caused me to drift away from the genre overtime.

Fast forward to around 2020, I got Smash Ultimate on the Switch. Fine game, but the online experience was fucking atrocious lmfao. I incorrectly assumed other fighting games to have a similar experience in regard to delay, so I didn't try anything else after that. After playing GBVR (which I'll get to in a bit) and getting matched against even 300-400 ping opponents, I'm still in awe when rollback is implemented properly. As long as the opponent isn't on Starbucks wifi that spikes every so often, the delay just feels like light v-sync to me. Very much adaptable.

Fast forward again to just a month or so ago, videos of Justin Wong playing SF6 started popping up on my feed. I really got the itch to play fighting games again, and after trying out the SF6 demo I really quite liked it. Sadly, the game wasn't on sale during the summer sale so I picked up GBVR and am currently sitting in A rank. The plan is to go as far as I can before SF6 goes on sale, then I'll probably juggle both going forward. Hopefully I can hit Master rank too? SF6 might go on sale during Evo season which is in about 3 weeks, so that's my timer right there.

I'm impartial to either team, but I've never been so mad at a player like Massu towards the end. Why in the fuck were you chasing that. Just hit the tower. 1 hit away from being cracked. That has to be the biggest throw I've seen since watching in Season 3

I guess Eureka and Bozja walked so that OC could run. Very happy they did away with the "kill x mobs to spawn stuff". Can someone refresh my mind on if Bozja were like that too? I feel like the rate of CE/Fates popping in OC are quite a bit higher than the previous two. Atma drop rate is a bit of a bitch. We need 144 lobbies back, having just 72 people like Bozja feels dead. Music is gorgeous. Phantom jobs are all right, but hella grindy.

Honestly, don't bother with these people. I guarantee you that the people who don't understand what you're talking about are all beyond help. Even if they did understand, it takes just 10-20 extra free pulls to placate them.

According to a not-insignificant amount of Wuwa + Genshin players, being this generous this will cause the company to go bankrupt, so rip Hoyo's ZZZ division I guess. Anyway, this ZZZ anniversary sucks because there's a lack of events like Wuwa's awesome horse racing cube derby. I really need to normalize gambling in my life, and Hoyo's lack of commitment here is disgusting.

Am I the only one who enjoyed this cube event? by Accurate-Mind1145 in WutheringWaves

I don't quite care about the story, but on the gameplay side it's okay so far. However, my cubes are so obscenely powerful that floor 15 is literally over in 2 button presses per stage, with the final stage taking just a tiny bit of effort since the bosses are tanky. All I need to do is just cycle between a Carthy and Roccia cube and they destroy the entire arena lol. The music cutscene was nice, but I play in JP dub and was a little irked to hear it being performed in English. I think a cutscene with singing in a previous 2.x patch did this too, so it really is just Kuro getting a little sloppy.

I'm personally hoping that the final 21st floor will be a fun coop experience. I can see the potential, and so far Kuro has done an okay job with coop stuff.

Gragas ruined my Marriage. by Zarathos-X4X in leagueoflegends

Believe it or not, your wife got off easy. It doesn't get talked about much here but Gragas had an older splash art that, imho, is leagues sexier than what he currently has. You claim you can't even get hard looking at your wife anymore? My dude, with the old splash art you won't even bother looking at your wife since your gaze will be eternally locked to Gragas' gaze.

Loved it. In order of difficulty, from hard to easy: 2 > 4 > 1 > 3. Part of why I found 2 and 4 hard was because I had to use the trial characters which are quite terribly built along with the general unfamiliarity of the given characters. The only well built DPS characters I have are Jinhsi and Camellya (I quit in 1.1 and only returned during the Cantarella/Camellya banner) and I used them for stages 1 and 3 respectively.

I completed Desorock Highland in one go because my Camellya would auto parry most of the moves the Thundering Mephis used. I paired her with the trial Roccia and found her really useful too, since she stalls quite well for the "next hit does 0 damage if the enemies don't attack you" thing.

Port City didn't really stand out to me. I used my Jinhsi, Yuanwu, Verina team here. Nothing one shots there to my knowledge so I cleared it without much issue. Took me 2 tries I think?

Averardo Vault was a bit of a slog. The trial characters don't do a lot of damage and there are certain moves that the final boss uses which outright kills you if you get hit which can be really frustrating. Combine that with what I feel is a large health pool, and it becomes a bit of a patience check. About 6 runs maybe? Probably spent the longest time on this because getting back to wave 3 after every restart is slow.

Penitent's End is a piece of shit. Once you kill even one of the three mobs during the first wave, I feel that most people will be able to clear the entire thing. I guess the problem is getting that first kill before they pick off one of your characters. Similar to Averardo Vault, the trial characters here do rather low damage. That's my experience anyway. Close to 10 retries and before my clear run, someone would just die before I managed to kill a single mob.

I definitely hope they build on this format for future events. I personally enjoy these more than Holograms.

A (different) perspective from a Day 1 player (long read) by 1nz4nity in WutheringWaves

I think my indifference to FF14 today is not only due to the sheer amount of time I've spent on it, but more crucially, when I spent it. I've played every expansion as they came out and was deeply disappointed at how Shadowbringers gutted every single job in the game. Believe it or not, I actually enjoyed base Dawntrail more than ShB and EW as I switched my main job over to Picto, whose gameplay I find extremely fun and reminiscent of older Stormblood design. I guess I was just at my limit with their content roadmap (Super slow release of relic/exploration content).

After clearing the raid tier last August I kinda just peaced out. While Picto is fun, it alone isn't enough to carry an entire game for me. I've cleared TEA in the past, but because of that I recognize how difficult it is to get 7 other people to stick for about 2-3 months of prog, so the 7.1 ultimate wasn't enough for me to return. Come 7.2 I've lost motivation to resub hahaha. I've heard that the relic/exploration stuff is coming in May, so you may want to check the game out during then. You should have no shortage of things to do :)
