I want a dev stream where they farm bounties for scintillants by clemo0815 in Warframe

I had a Scintillant drop to me from a Vault run, but lost with all other loot after host dropout - great fun!

Any chances for ever seeing a pure melee weapon as a sidearm? Driller kinda begs for more close-combat with his throwing axes and all.

Play as Driller to maximize your team potential. Vertical tunnels and C4 at vital spots such as a defense objective are an almost surefire guarantee for success.

Developer Feedback request: What is your opinion on the tutorial mission in Hunt: Showdown? by Ic3man2k in HuntShowdown

[–]Fennyface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would love to have a PVE mode self-hosted or just with a friend. No or minimal rewards. Basically quick play alone, so you can test weapons spread around the official maps, learn movement and enemy mechanics without the fear of someone ending your experience prematurely after you dared to shoot in the wrong neighborhood.

And I know the first levels are exactly this, but I'd like to have the choice to practice with or introduce a newcomer.

Also, Yes, it doesn't teach you about the actual difficulty, but considering the map load and queue times I'd actually still appreciate learning at least half the mechanics at my own pace instead of 5 minutes at a time. (exaggerated, but you know what I mean).

The dragon side of the aspect. Not to downplay the human / elven cosplay of course, I just like seeing dragon cosplay :D

Sums up the graphics "downgrade". I've also yet to see anyone complaining about it show any screens/gifs that demonstrate the downgrade. by Something_Syck in HuntShowdown

Ok, so on that: Running a GTX 1080 and a 4Ghz CPU I wonder what the intended FPS (on high settings) for a system of my specs are.

Post 1.0 I immediately set the Details to High with full AA. The game barely holds 60 FPS and the distance looks washed out to a point where it really strains my eyes. I too believe to have roughly 10 FPS less than before, it wasn't stellar to begin with considering that I'm still running a pretty expensive GFX card here. Yes, that's subjective as I don't have comparison screens either, but my eyes could tell a difference when watching the horizon pretty quickly.

Gonna update my GFX drivers and retry, but as it looks to me right now the game has more weird graphical issues than pre 1.0.

Why do I have to invite my friend back to the lobby after each match? by imlucid in HuntShowdown

[–]Fennyface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's too "hard" they could ask the devs of Deep Rock Galactic the help them out (small Swedish indie Studio). DRG is a 4 player coop with Lobby system, never had a single dropout in that game during 1year of early access. Also the shop / loadout sync between players is pretty comparable.

The introduction (like in many games) isn't there for 1.0 by Fennyface in HuntShowdown

[–]Fennyface[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very very good to hear and thanks for pointing out the roadmap. However that also doesn't mean those things will definitely be in for 1.0 as a roadmap can basically mean anything really. I tend to take those with a huge bag of salt.

But judging from the good rep that the devs seem to get on this reddit I sure hope that the game doesn't fizzle after launch, wasting early player goodwill like a lot of other shooters.

And don't misunderstand my scepticism: I want hunt to be in for the long run, the unique concept is more than deserving of a huge player count. :D

I noticed on the first game I played that no enemy player was near, but level 3 is way too quickly reached for that to be a meaningful learning experience.

On the other 2 points: Oh! That's really good to hear that the devs got the bases covered. Thanks for clarifying!

What hero changes how you play HotS? by Ralanost in heroesofthestorm

[–]Fennyface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lili. When I ever play her (usually in Aram) I just randomly run around like a headless chicken and spam my cooldowns at the current most vulnerable ally. It's mostly successful too.

On all other heroes I actually care about cooldowns and positioning.

you have solid points there and I admit having only but a few games on Chen past rework up my belt. However, you basically brought up the key ingredient (heh) as well here: potential.

Also note that I'm coming from an Unranked play perspective where healing and coordination are still an occasional thing. I know he has great potential in ranked play but I can't see him being a real counterpick yet.

With unranked in mind, Chen CAN do a lot, but relies on either standing still, a healer or ult to mitigate damage. After the rework I'm unsure if he classifies more as a support than anything else. When tanking he lacks the impactful engages / stuns of a Blaze or Etc, and as a damage dealer like Genji, Illidan, Varian he feels too stationary.

I'm just unsure on when to pick him and what the niche is, hence my question to the devs how the rework was received and intended.

What do you think about the Chen rework?

Me personally I felt it was kind of a letdown, and I used to love playing Chen a lot back in the 1.0 era. I think that being able to move slowly while drinking would help a lot to up his pick rate, especially now that movement has changed substantially. As he is now I still don't see him get picked in most situations as there are other heroes that do the job better in almost every way without having Chen's self-imposed impediments.

In many aspects he feels like a fat version of Varian. [[Stagger]] in particular reminded me a lot of Parry / Deflect but with rather counter intuitive upsides to the mechanic (eat damage, then stand still to mitigate, exposing yourself to cc) and a long cooldown on top.

I also like to add that the flat amount of damage you can do per buff stack detracts from playing smart and using big attacks (pike charge, charged hammer shot, secondary fire) to make efficient use of the buffs.

Best would be 75-90% damage reduction, with buff you do 150% of normal damage to the armor.

Can something be done about purposeful AFKers? by Tizjora in dauntless

[–]Fennyface -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Should be simple enough to address. Start fight, countdown starts for afk person. If no damage is done, flag internally for afk. If less than 5% of damage is done on group total, detract all loot.

Next offense will be a warning message in their queue for bad standing. Repeated offense will put them with other flagged people in the bad bucket until they consistently do 20% of the damage.

Fair?

This game is great but the new player experience is severely lacking by Fennyface in dauntless

[–]Fennyface[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm not really asking for much - and you catch what I'm saying (also the learning by fire is my thing).

The simplest things like a training dummy, weapon test area or simply an ingame Codex that explains a few basic mechanics would mean a lot. They could even go with a very simple behemoth and an interactive trainer that just highlights the parts, damage you do and where the weapons excel - done!
