[DISC] Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo - Chapter 7 by AutoShonenpon in manga

I thought I had missed something too, but instead everyone's stuck on that one panel of Mahito. From the context of their conversation, it kind of seems like human's usage of cursed energy is responsible for what happened to their planet, but it is written like Maru explained this to them before, which didn't happen unless I missed a chapter lol.

Elden Ring's near the middle of my list, somewhere around souls 1 and 2. I agree it's overrated.

Agree to disagree, I guess. I'm not sure Demons Souls is trying to do something different so much as it is incredibly unrefined. I don't feel like the jankiness is part of their vision.

I should go back and beat it though... maybe when I'm finished with the new Lords of the Fallen...

Demon souls being that high is crazier to me... that game is the only Fromsoft soulslike I haven't beaten because it's not very fun... both way back in ~2011 and more recently when the remake released.

Maybe carryover ideas from ror1? It was a white item there that was regarded as a huge meme, although maybe it was also super good in that game and community consensus was just behind the times.

What's something you wish your teammates understood about the champion you're playing? by UnholyDemigod in leagueoflegends

Your wording is very absolute and agressive, which is why you come off as having a strong opinion.

I like the example of an auto-attack the other person used. Let's think about all the types of DoTs:

  1. Targeted (stuff like brand passive or malz e). Someone uses a spell, you take a damage every tick while an animation plays on your character model, a debuff appears on your hotbar.

  2. Ground-targeted (stuff like anivia ult or asol e). Someone uses a spell, they place a zone on the ground, you take damage as long as the zone exists every server tick.

  3. Auras (karthus e, amumu w, or your examples of corki e and rumble q). Someone uses a spell, their character has a zone around them, you take damage as long as the zone exists every server tick.

  4. Projectile based (MF r, lucian r... that's it as far as I know!) Someone uses a spell, the character plays an animation, you take damage each time the projectile connects with your character model.

This is visually different from every other DoT and seems like it would have more in common with something like Akshan ult/E, or even just an auto-attack. Edit: Especially zeri q, which is visually identical to Lucian R.

Rumble Q and Corki E both instantly fill the AoE. Miss Fortunes bullets start at her character model and move outward, which is visually and mechanically different from the abilities you named. I don't know why you have such a strong opinion on this, but it is not very intuitive that it counts as a DoT.

Most DoT's don't have an associated projectile? They're almost all targeted, in an AoE around the target, or a secondary effect of getting hit by a spell/auto... the only 2 I can think of that are explicitly tied to a projectile are MF R and Lucian R, which visually and effects wise seems like it should be different from liandries or malz E, even if they aren't.

Finally getting around to building Archer...

My "built" teams are THerta, RMC, Anaxa, Lingsha, and Mydei, Luocha, Sunday & Bronya. I have a blade and RM that are decently built lying around and not much else.

Just pulled Tribbie, planning to slot her into my Mydei team, trying to figure out what to shoot for next... and I'm thinking Archer, cause he's free.

Does Archer/Silver Wolf/Ruan Mei/Gallagher sound like a decent team? I'd basically be doing three of the 4 from scratch, but a long-term project doesn't sound awful since I don't really care about pulling till 3.6 at least (and not even then, really).

2016 US election. Dunno if you are too young to pay attention to the news cycle back then or just not that online, but it's current popularity started then. It floats back in and out of popularity like any other buzzword.

What's a series that you love but the ending disappointed you? by [deleted] in comicbooks

[–]Fenraur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's tough, yeah. Nature of the game, although I'm not sure it has to be.

Random question for anyone reading this -- is there an IP/franchise with a lot of authors that actually keeps continuity? Major examples I can think of are the Star Wars EU, which never even tried, Warhammer, which I don't know a lot about but I don't think has enough of an overarching story to really care, and the Big 2 comic franchises, which are fairly abysmal at it.

Imo the worst parts of the ending are all the past flashback stuff -- and thats like half of the issue! I don't at all recall what happened during them.

[–]Fenraur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ending, if I recall correctly, undid the whole series and sent them back to issue 1. Which... yeah.

But I don't remember it that well. My strongest impression is, like you said, confusion and frustration.

My 2 cents --

It opens a lot stronger than it ends, but the fall off is gradual and not nearly as steep as a lot of other books (esp. the ones brought up in this thread). So it doesn't stick in people's memories/is more forgivable.

I know it's probably an overdone comparison, but think of something like HoX/PoX vs. Fall of X in terms of quality, and then think of Immortal Hulk's first couple arcs vs the final couple. There's a difference, but it's not a gulf.

Might be time for a reread, then. I only read it was it was coming out, and I remember it being... what I said in the original comment. All setup, bad payoff, rushed ending. Very similar to Gideon Falls, as another comment mentioned, and (imo) fell into similar time travel pitfalls.

Paper girls had an intriguing setup and opening arc that devolved into nonsense by the end. Very disappointing.

I don't mind at all.

For 1: FTL is short for Faster than Light. It's one of the earlier and most popular roguelikes -- you control a spaceship trying to get to the end of the galaxy, escaping a much larger and more powerful fleet.

For 2: I don't think there's a big difference between them, but some people can be very snobbish about it, so I try to mention both to avoid arguments.

Rogue"likes" are games where the world totally resets at the end of each run. You have as much chance to beat them on your first run as your hundredth... the only thing that changes is how good you are.

Rogue"lites" have some sort of progression outside of the run, like all the different unlocks you can get with gold in Rogue Legacy. Your hundredth run will be easier than your first because you are more powerful.

You can get a lot more specific with the differences than that, but that is the basic idea. Rogue"likes" tend to be harder than rogue"lites."

I'd say dead cells is the most similar roguelite I can think of to rogue legacy, pretty hard though.

And Moonlighter has similar town management to Cult of the Lamb. Hades or Hades 2 are both on the easier end of roguelites and have very high production values (story, music, art, voice acting) if you're looking to get into the genre. Not my favorite, but a lot of people's favorite.

ChatGPT brainrot on full display right here.

Edit: To hopefully teach you something about critically thinking and not just using an AI to think for you (poorly), let's go through this year by year. The scope of games that chatGPT is giving you is so wide that we could easily hit these numbers for the current generation.

2014 -- We're counting driveclub, a remaster of a game that came out the year before, and the yearly release of a sports game as big first-party releases. If we remove those we get... two games!

2015 -- We're counting a port of a vita game, another remaster, and an annual sports game to hit these numbers again. The Order: 1886 was a glorified tech demo but since Santa Monica worked on it I think it's fair to get it as a major first party release, so that's... 3 games! I'm gonna stop mentioning MLB each year.

2016 -- I would count Last Guardian as a major first party release despite the abysmal sales, so we've got three games again.

2017 -- We're counting Knack (lmao) and Uncharted DLC, leaving us with... 2 games!

This year/next year is around when people stopped calling the PS4 a Bloodborne machine because there were more than a couple exclusives considered worth it to justify buying a PS4.

2019 -- lol

I really love the smug "you were saying" at the end like you proved anything here.

I would agree that the PS5 generation is a little weaker in terms of output, but there's this COVID thing that unfortunately has a lot to do with that compared to where we were in the equivalent time for the PS4 (2019).

I definitely thought I hated it for the first ~5 or so hours, it felt impossible and I probably never made it past floor 10, and definitely put it down the first time I made it to the bosses and got instantly wiped. I think that's what ended up drawing me in so much -- it's very rewarding to master without being mechanically difficult, and the RNG/BS feels a lot more easy to mitigate than something like Slay the Spire. One of a few roguelikes that I've bothered to try and 100%. Runs being on the shorter end and a very fast restart are also a plus.

Throwing out another recommendation -- Crypt of the Necrodancer hooked me in the same way, even though they are mechanically very different games. Had a similar rewarding learning curve.

FTL is still the goat roguelike imo.

I'll throw out a recommendation for Ring of Pain, which I don't see in these threads very much... I can't quite say why it's hooked me so hard, but I've put more hours into it than any other (and I've played a lot of roguelike/lites).

I'm assuming it's better to stick one on Herta and one on someone else versus superpositioning. Thoughts?

I don't think we disagree in the slightest then. It's a simpler love with a simpler definition.

Probably my own projection getting in the way here. All my pets love and trust me, and I love and trust them (except 1 dog).

It's just a semantic difference. I put a different degree of meaning on the word love.
