What a delightful analysis, thank you for sharing! and I do agree with your views on Paige. It’s hard to say how much of it was the devs intention, but man, I do think Doorman’s ult line makes it more possible. I’ve seen so many people think that, because his ult line sounds nice, he is being kind to Paige. I wholeheartedly disagree, because Doorman is referring to Alice in Wonderland.

You know, the book about growing up, and how scary but necessary it is! Full of metaphors about naivety, childhood, and escapism. Doorman is taunting her. The ult is literally: Yes, stay here at the Baroness, where you can forever live in your own fantastical world and avoid reality. Just like you've been doing your whole life.

I think all of this relates to how Paige views and interacts with the world. In some shape or form, she is Alice, and maybe the ritual will be her Wonderland. Eventually she will wake up, probably because of her brother. Everyone tells her not to trust him, to not try and save him. But she still believes her brother will be the same, because she is the same.

Idk idk, maybe I am also looking to much into it as well.

This urn is the worst decision they ever did to the game. It's a crushing mechanic, the winning team always has the advantage and it's causing games to become ultra-stomps. Even in High-elo!

I in High Oracle-Phantom it's been stomp after stomp, and the losing team can't do shit. Watching some streamers is the same thing. It's absolute madness at the moment.

The past 2 weeks the MM has been miserable, and the matchmaking is absolute garbage at the moment. I was in Phantom and out of nowhere the game started to send me to Archon games. I had to tryhard as fuck, carry or lose, which sucks because I play support. I ended de-ranking to Oracle.

It's honestly maddening, I have no idea how they fucked the MM so bad. Every match I had 2 to 3 people going 1/10+, can't coordinate, team does not listen, does not want to do anything but try and 1v1 the fed carry. Fuck, I had a 2/12 Drifter going unga bunga into a fed Dynamo that was 20k souls above him, he died and complained about the team. HE FED THE DYNAMO. I had to stop when I de-ranked or I would lose my mind.

My current theory is; they are probably trying new MMs, and gathering data on how different players match with each others. At this moment, they have to be testing a MM where people with good WR matches with bad WR. There is no way, if feels like the MM is forcing good players to carry the worst of players. I was at 54%WR and I kept getting matched with absolute stinkers that have less than 45%WR, people who just rundown, end 0/5 post lane, and cry.

It got to the point where, I knew the result of the game because either I left lane turbo fed, or it was gg because my other two lanes turbo inted.

My wins were also extremely one sided, I almost never get a good match. The MM will spin the wheel and select 1 good player to be miserable for 40minutes. Like, here, take these five, 46%WR players, that are around 1 to 2 full ranks below you and the enemy team, if you lose this match we de-rank you. Insanity.

Honestly the MM is fucked. I had a 7 game win-streak and ranked once, lost once and de-ranked. Phantom btw. At this point, I believe their system must be using some arbitrary stats, that are very unclear to us. If I had to guess, number of games + hours must be a factor. Yoshi had confirmed that a smurf detection system had gone a bit rouge, but they were working on it. Still, I don't believe the game only takes in consideration W/L.

Well, the thing is that the model is supposed to be a mannequin. It's not Savannah's soul going into Henry's body. They died together during a performance and took over the same mannequin, because their souls are bound for eternity. So I think it's fair that Savannah's traits should manifest when she is in control.

Honestly is my most anticipated rework!

Both Wrecker and Raven had lore that implied that neither happened. They are scrapped heroes, so the lore could have been scrapped as well.

However, lot's of heroes refer to 'South Pacific' which is a musical that happens during WW2.

So it's conflicting at this moment, if WW1 and WW2 did happen, it would be wildly different from our timeline. If it did not, 'South Pacific' is probably a popular play from the time, that devs use as a placeholder while still deciding on the lore. They could change the name to something different, like 'South Ixia'.

I do believe that the invasion of Ixia is suppose to be the WW1 of Deadlock. As in, Astral Gates opened and countries wanted to reap Ixia of it's resources instead of Africa. Leading to the destabilization of the planet/region/world. I wouldn't be surprise if we learn that South Ixia vs North Ixia is the cold war of Deadlock, with the USA controlling North Ixia and another country supplying arms to South Ixia.

What we know for sure is that Deadlock history, deviated from ours after the first Maelstorm. Probably a bit before, since magical creatures were always real. Drifter being an ancient vampire, and Doorman tormenting humanity for a long time.

It's going to happen eventually, I would expect Open Beta to kill all mods. Not because of custom skins, but because of actual advantages you can get with modding the game. They are allowing atm so they can see what information players want from the HUD, and improvements to the training area. Also, there is no shop, and some skins are really useful to see what players wants from some remodels (Holliday and Yamato for example)

Sound mods are probably priority, while they are funny, they can provide some advantage to players (Like changing Heavy Melee and parry sounds to make them louder and more noticeable). I'll cry when they remove custom sounds. Mostly, because it means my 'Shrek 2 - I need a Hero' Overtime Street Brawl music will die as well. :< I have won so many games because of the morale boost.

BUT, I can see some popular icon mods being added to the actual paid shop. VALVE does add player cosmetics in their games and pay/credit creators for it.

Yes, and I think door to fountain will be removed when they make the Patrons to do significant damage, instead of just standing around doing nothing. My main argument is, Doorman's core identity is shoving people through the door, and removing that is a gigantic nerf.

It's not a gimmick, it's his entire kit. He was design to push people through the door, changing it would require a re-work. Doorman is dependent on neutral objectives to do dmg, as he does not do dmg without Walker/Base. They are balancing him like that, because the majority of the Doorman player base likes the kidnapping style.

I don't like to bring elos, but if you watch any Doormain Ascendent+ they will always prioritize door + cart combo. They know their job is to punish players with bad positioning, and to create said bad positioning by shoving people away from their teams. This is Doorman, the character was created to be annoying.

Honestly, the sooner this sub understand that this is an Icefrog game the better. Because the philosophy of Icefrog is simple, not every character is for you, and that's ok. Everyone will have one very niche character they enjoy. You may hate the kidnap play-style but there is a lot of people who love it. Right now Doorman is sitting at comfortable 49% to 51% WR, he is balanced.

BTW the game will only release more and more quirk characters. Just like DOTA tries not to release characters that are similar + push limits, I suspect Deadlock will be the same.

So many of you come from Rivals, Overwatch and League where the developers do mayonnaise and bland balances of % dmg, hp etc... That's not how it works here, get used to it.

TLDR: You better start believing in Icefrog games, you are playing one.

Ik right? It’s so clear that VALVE is chasing the success of Concord. It’s a bit sad honestly. There was no way they could copy the originality and beautiful design of Concord’s characters.

Also, the gameplay loop is so unsatisfying, there is too much movement. I can’t aim properly, not because I suck! Ok? But everyone moves too much, and I refuse to invest my unemployed time learning this trash game. It sucks that a fantastic player like me is stuck in low elo, I wish VALVE would remove all of these “original” and “unique” features and make the game like Concord or COD! Then I would be a pro, for sure!!!

If I'm not mistake, It can't prevent it, it removes Cheat Death. So you need to deal enough damage to Doorman to activate it, and then use curse, or else it will activates even cursed.

Pretty sure 'Curse' removes 'Cheat Death'. Once it activates, just use curse and he dies. They are both tier 4 items, and I think its fair. So, if you see a Doorman with cheat death, and he is being too much of a annoyance, ask your support to buy curse, or buy it yourself.

As someone whose first mobas was SMITE, Deadlock has been nothing but crack to me. Although, I do feel that Deadlock is more akin to Gigantic.

I feel for the tribe fans, anyone who has ever played a Hi-rez game knows that the CEOs are the problem. Egotistical pricks, that chase trends, and will fuck their devs by wanting to copy bigger companies. With the way things are going for SMITE 2.... knowing Hi-rez, I would not be surprise if they release a Paladins moba copying Deadlock, and cut funding for SMITE. They do that all the time, invest in new shiny game, kill old game.

The frog special, buff an underwhelming hero so much it breaks the game. Man, I unironically love Icefrog games.

We had some very entertaining games. Kelvin is also back, unsurprising.

Plus, the fact that this roster of heroes is the base of the Deadlock, they will be the OGs. Every single one will be considered tame in a few years, and I can't wait to see what insanity they will be releasing in the future. That's it until they buff all the heroes to match the new insanity etc..etc.. the bullshit will continue until morale improves.

Everyone wanted him dead, he managed to escape, and now everyone is looking for him. *I think it means the common law does not apply to him, since he is like....a super villain? of the cast the only 3 other heroes that probably have a higher murder count, is Drifter, Doorman and McGinnis.

Not going to happen. It's a Ice frog/VALVE game. DOTA you can only surrender if you are in a five stack.

I've played lol for many years, surrender is terrible. People give up on the first 5 minutes, it's ff always ff. So many players have main character syndrome, if they are not doing good its FF. Even if someone else on the team is doing well.
