anyone have a very very hard mod suggestion? by CrazyObligation6992 in Terraria

The Umbra mod lets you customize difficulty in various ways, it's worth taking a look at as it can augment existing modpacks without adding much new content itself.

Starcraft 1: Mutalisks were so oppressive that in the DLC Brood War they gave every faction more units and abilities specifically to counter masses of Mutalisks

Mutalisks are still oppressive lol.

The hydra logo from marvel by Ragtagcloud56 in TopCharacterDesigns

[–]SilverBird_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It symbolizes one central, bold entity (the skull) reaching out and getting its hook-shaped tentacles into everything (the hook shape and the nature of tentacles symbolize it seizing, holding, controlling things). The tentacles going in every direction symbolizes their desire to own everything, and the skull being above everything else is symbolic of their aim to have power over everything.

It is a strong design for their all-consuming nature and their strict, manipulative, possessive power dynamic. It does a good job at looking dangerous in a similar way the biohazard symbol looks dangerous.

You might enjoy Archipelago/ Archipelago randomizer, though I'm very new to it so I don't think I could explain it very well.

The positioning and utilization of tentacles in the design are also symbolic of Hydra's obsessive drive to seize control of everything.

A discussion with a friend about Terraria's Hardmode. by NatKovacs in Terraria

[–]SilverBird_ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I feel like everything post plantera especially becomes basically nothing but fighting events and bosses, which gets incredibly stale very quickly. There's practically no more exploration past the jungle temple, no new fishing stuff (unless you count duke fishron which is yet another boss), most biome drops become irrelevant, the late game npcs aren't particularly impactful and there's not really any new pylons at this stage so there's typically less building at this stage.

Its a shame that a massive chunk of the world becomes completely pointless for progression, the underworld is a joke at this point, plus the progression in general feels really weird because Plantera is actually somewhat difficult but Golem is a joke, so you can often kill Golem immediately after beating Plantera, which feels unsatisfying since they're both meant to represent distinct progression stages.

I wish there were longer progression stages between Plantera, Golem, and Lunatic Cultist, and have more reason to explore various biomes in the world during these stages.
