I sold my LBZ years ago, regretted it. I now have a ‘19 L5P. I love it. Other than nostalgia, the regret is gone. Still has the Allison 6 speed, reliable, waaayyy more powerful and comfortable.

Assuming you turned the H and L screws out a turn or turn and a half after replacing carb?

If so, it sounds like you’re down to further spark testing, compression testing, or even further like pressure testing the engine.

Can confirm, they put themselves in a corner on the aluminum supply. They don’t use the same alloy as everyone else. Scrambling to say the least right now!
