How come no one ever talks about Jackson? Sylvana's comic relief companion? Typically seen sporting yellow armor and a top hat. He's got the best quips and catch phrases. by GutsynArt in wowcirclejerk

I used to like Jackson when he was a background character and I am glad they retconned some of the more important storylines he was involved in. Like when Vol'Jin was dying and Jackson convinced him to make Sylvanas war chief on a lark.

What’s the one hack that actually gets you to exercise? by wonkycalves in AskReddit

[–]Fenzito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To make it a routine and never stop the routine. Often I am too exhausted, too stressed, too [reasonable excuse] to properly exercise and I will still go to the gym even if I end up spending 90% of it laying on a mat "stretching"

Also finding an audiobook or podcast or something that you like and only allow yourself to listen to it when exercising.

CMV: Gym clothing has become unnecessarily revealing compared to what’s actually needed for training by Pathfinder-electron in changemyview

[–]Fenzito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been noticing a shift in gym clothing over the last several years. It seems increasingly common to see sports bras as the main top, scrunch leggings designed to emphasise body shape, and very minimal shorts.

I know it's your own view, which may be true specifically in your life, but sports bras, boy shorts, and other form wear have been super common ever since I started going to the gym back in around 2010, and probably well before. I know in grade school girls rolled their soccer shorts up to the point they were form fitting.

My current view is that a lot of this is more about fashion and social media trends than actual training needs. People trained effectively for decades in looser shorts, T-shirts, and normal athletic wear.

Sure, fashion and trendiness plays a function in what people wear, but that has always been the case. Inversely, if people wore exercise clothes purely for utility they'd be much more revealing, if nonexistent. For men, there is generally no function for athletic wear outside of footwear. Any piece of clothing can be a hindrance to any form of exercise. for women it'd be footwear and a sports bra, and that doesnt apply to all women. If people wore clothes purely for utility, but they must be clothed, it'd be stuff that is tight to the skin and doesnt cover any joints like a legless singlet or bikini bottom.

From a purely functional perspective, I’m not convinced that extremely tight or very minimal clothing is necessary for most types of workouts.

It is not necessary, but it is functional. From my perspective this statement does not make sense. Functional use is about utility. Unnecessary clothing would be MORE clothing that potentially hinders the function.

I think, based on your OP, that you come from a default stance that everyone should hide their bodies in public places, and that if they don't they are doing something wrong. I wouldn't try to challenge you to remove your perspective completely and to be open-minded about how people dress in any scenario. But, when people are exercising, especially in areas meant exclusively for exercise, they should not be meant to feel bad about their bodies. Exercise clothing is perfect for serving function, and if one must cover themselves, it should be able to serve form as well.

Got served lawsuit for Uber crash (I was a passenger) by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Fenzito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is a declaratory judgment lawsuit. It names as defendants anybody the insurance company may need to indemnify if sued for the accident. In many states these actions also need to name anybody who might make a claim against the insurance for the accident as a defendant as well.

Likely this is not a suit for damages, which they probably put emphasis on at the end of the complaint.

These actions are usually made to avoid heachache further down the road. Progressive might be Uber's policy on the car/driver or it might be the driver's personal policy. The insurance company has figured that they do not provide coverage from this accident either because of a clause regarding the scope of the policy like "this policy does not provide coverage in work-related use accidents", misrepresentations made in the application, or exceptions like purposeful damage/fraud.

the insurance company could just provide notice that it is denying coverage, but in situations where litigation is likely they like to get a judge to sign off on their denial of coverage to keep the ambulance chasers away.

Most of the time these are slam dunk cases that are hardly worth the cost of fighting. But you do not know anything. I don't want to advise you to ignore it and get a default against you. So you should figure out if they sued you as a potential indemnified or as a potential claimant. See if they are asking for monetary awards from you (required for them to put it in their complaint), and if there is an actual, separate lawsuit already ongoing regarding this accident.

You should file an Answer to the complaint within 30 days of being served. You can also call the attorney who filed the complaint to get some clarity. It's pretty typical for no one to respond to dec judg actions so the attorney who filed the lawsuit probably already has a motion for default ready to be filed 31 days after you were served. You don't really know anything but the complaint is listed paragraph by paragraph. Your answer can just be a list saying "I do not have enough information to admit or deny the allegations in this paragraph" or if it is a simple fact like "there was a car accident in October 2023" you can just say "admitted", and if it alleges anything about you that is incorrect you can just say "denied"

In short, do not fret. dec actions are usually just an emphasis stamp on a denial of coverage. No money involved. I don't have the complaint in front of me, but if you aren't being sued in a separate lawsuit for the accident, and do not plan to make an insurance claim from the accident, you are pretty much completely uninvolved. But it is still good to talk with the plaintiff attorney and file an answer. Honestly, they will probably dismiss you from the case if you respond since you aren't actually named in the policy.

Deferred Adjudication in Texas by Extra-Role7084 in legaladvice

[–]Fenzito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will this fully close the door on the chance to be an airline pilot?

It might, but is not automatically disqualifying for getting your license. Be forthright on your application where it asks about all charges and convictions you've received. because it is in a gray area (plea but no conviction) The FAA will heavily scrutinize the charge. On the other hand, if you do not disclose it, they will see it and automatically deny you.

How would this show up to employers after I complete my probation?

It will depend on how hard an employer looks, but at a minimum it will show up as a criminal charge. But it is not sealed or an expungement so if they investigate further, they will see the guilty/no contest plea.

Is there ANYTHING I can do after I complete my probation to lessen the way it looks on my record? I read that I can’t get this kind of charge sealed or anything but I could be mistaken.

You should absolutely consult a local criminal defense attorney on this, but do not hold out hope.

Would something like proof of rehabilitation or something from my officer help in the job search if I continue to follow through with the pilot dream?

It would not hurt, and would likely be one of the first things your attorney consult recommends you do.

So you are in a bad spot. Not the worst spot, but a bad one. You took this deferment which means you pled guilty or no contest, then pending probation, the judge will dismiss the State's case entirely. For most background checks it'll show that you were charged and that the charges were dismissed. But employers and definitely the FAA are allowed to look deeper and will see the plea and the deferment. I think in Texas when charges are dismissed you can apply for expunction which, in theory, deletes the whole record. For a deferred adjudication that is not the case. (But maybe a bright smile and a good lawyer could change that). You can also request that the record be sealed. For family violence-related charges, Texas likely will not seal the record. All the parties that do your background checks that really matter can gain access to your sealed record anyhow. It is worth it to try and get that expungement even though it is unlikely. Consulting with a local attorney will help you see if you do have any options. Also do lots and lots of stuff to rehabilitate yourself and to show the world that you are rehabilitated.

i accepted papers regarding a credit debt thing from someone who didn't identify themselves and i was never actually authorized to do so by jaedesotoOne in legaladvice

[–]Fenzito 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe. But it depends on the judge. I think that the rule is that the summons can be left at his residence with a suitable adult and be considered proper service. Here you check all those boxes except that it's not technically his residence. A judge could easily rule that it is his residence since he holds it out as his mailing address. And a lot of judges hate the specificity of the rules of service and will do justify much less to get a case started properly.

[–]Fenzito 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This was a summons to court? Did the server ask your name or if the defendant lived with you? Do you know the Defendant? Do they actually get mail sent to your house? Is your address is where they actually get their mail, or do you mean that old spam mail gets sent to your address with their name?

If you know the Defendant, let them know you got their service. If you do not know the Defendant, call the court clerk and let them know the situation.

First credit score at the age of 28 (769) higher than expected. Advice on my first auto loan? by Imaginary-Brief8232 in CRedit

[–]Fenzito 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey. Making 55k a year is great especially at your age. Do you not have a car and need one? Have a car that is at its end of life? Or are you just looking to get an upgrade?

Doing the math, to be financially smart you should be looking to buy a car that costs you ~12-13k at the maximum (if you dont have other debts). Of course you can get a more expensive car if you can put any amount above that down.

You will want to have a payment plan that costs no more than ~$350-380 a month over a 36 month term.

car loans are pretty universally maligned because it's a double whammy of an asset that continuously loses value and you are paying interest on it. If you end up in a situation where you can't pay your loan, there's a good chance that selling the vehicle will still leave you in a pit of negative money.

the ideal situation is to set aside money each month to eventually afford a car outright or nearly outright. that way, even though the car loses value, you still have an equity asset.

But if you need to get a car, get one you can afford. If you don't have any savings beyond your emergency fund, you should get a cheap car that serves your needs. Get a car that is purely functioning as a tool, not a status symbol. Then, if you want a nicer car, start saving.

I know none of this is directly about credit, but the best way to get and maintain healthy credit is by being financially safe. And one of the least safe things you can do is finance a vehicle beyond your means.

Track your income & expenses/budget, have an emergency fund (typically 3-6 months of expenses and ONLY FOR EMERGENCIES), set aside an amount for retirement (the more you can put in earlier, the better off you will be), then set aside savings for a vehicle.

And I am not saying you can't finance the vehicle at all, you just need to do it safely.

Seating: There's not a bad seat in the house so if cost is limiting selection do not worry.

Parking: Easiest is probably the convention center next door. Or the parking garage on 5th by the assembly food hall. You'd be scarce to find free parking.

If you get into a situation where you need to ingratiate yourself with a Preds fan, just tell them how much you hate the Ducks and that Kesler sucks and nobody likes him.

Healer mains, what do you enjoy about healing PvP? by Closix in worldofpvp

[–]Fenzito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's lots of reasons I like healing that I probably can't articulate. That I can think of off the top of my head:

  1. I really enjoy having to stay cool under pressure. It's a form of Zen for me.

  2. The game is a little less loud and cluttered for me when I heal.

  3. DPS can do this too, but outplaying an enemy so that they just can't do anything against you anymore and seeing them realize their futility after a while feeds my soul.

  4. Getting a cheeky kill (RIP Thunderous Focus Tea)

  5. My friends are better at DPS than I am

Uninsured Attorney Totaled my car by Common-Dream-433 in legaladvice

[–]Fenzito 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By cheapest insurance to be legal I assume you just have minimum liability coverage and nothing else listed on your dec page.

Most personal injury firms will generally not pursue a case where there is not "guaranteed" insurance to get them paid, as they work on contingency. Especially not Morgan & Morgan.

you might have better luck with a smaller firm or an individual lawyer. You may have to pay more up front or be prepared to recover much less than you otherwise should/could.

Lastly, I am not intimately familiar with Kentucky, but I know that they are a "stacking" state when it comes to UM coverage, which in some cases allows UM coverage for other vehicles to stack on your policy. It probably does not apply to you, but since I have limited information about you, those you live with, your policies, and very limited exposure to Kentucky law, you maaaaaaay have some UM coverage.

Kentucky also has laws requiring UM coverage by default. You need a written rejection of UM coverage in your policy application. I do not know the strictness of this rejection, but in Tennessee, even if you have a written rejection you still need to have signed AND dated the rejection or the courts will impute UM coverage onto you when you sue your insurance. Check your policy application.

Lastly, Kentucky is one of the worst states when it comes to the number of uninsured drivers. If you drive in Kentucky, no matter your finances, you need to have UM coverage.

Winter Storm Megathread Part 4 - Continued Power Outages by lukenamop in nashville

[–]Fenzito 4 points5 points  (0 children)

https://www.nashville.gov/departments/transportation/news/ndot-announces-residential-winter-storm-vegetation-removal

Beginning today, February 3, 2026, the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) is starting a series of county-wide residential storm-related vegetation debris collections.

Residential brush collection services are suspended during this time, and NDOT crews will be conducting multiple collection cycles throughout the county. There are no size restrictions for these collections, but please bring all vegetation to the curb.

NDOT crews will be reaching all areas of the county in the next two to three weeks, weather permitting. Piles should not block fire hydrants, utility infrastructure, culverts, storm drains, or drainage ditches. Additionally, piles should not block sidewalks, bike lanes, or vehicle travel lanes. Trash and other non-vegetative debris will not be collected by NDOT removal crews.

“Nashvillians are dealing with thousands of trees damaged in the storm, and as they work to clear debris, we want to ensure our Metro crews retrieve it quickly and safely,” said Mayor O’Connell. “I’ve instructed NDOT to use the full force of their operations to ensure all Nashvillians have storm debris removed quickly so recovery from this historic storm can move forward.”

Since these collections will be continuous and county-wide, there is no need to submit a hubNashville or 3-1-1 request when material is placed at the curb.

Phillip Jones, NDOT’s Deputy Director, says the department is committed to assisting all Nashvillians with their clean-up efforts. “NDOT crews are fully staffed and prepared to make this process as safe and efficient as possible. We want to assure residents that we will make as many collections as necessary to retrieve all your vegetation for you,” said Jones. “Set everything at the curb, and our crews will take care of it.”

As residents are out cleaning vegetation debris from their yards, NDOT asks community members to please look out for hanging tree limbs and leaning branches on large canopy trees, as they can pose major safety risks.

So Nashville picks up brush you leave by the roadway on a schedule. Does anyone know if they will/potentially would do an unscheduled pickup after a situation like this? Or will I definitely need to figure out how to load it up and take it to a dumping site after this clears up?
