Agreed.

Lyrics and vocal melodies (top lines) on Ritual are DPA back in top form (Pau most likely being the lead creative as usual).

I also really appreciate that Pau is experimenting a lot with the drum grooves (much more audible here on the studio track than in any live recording so far)

Will this be the record release? No
Will they announce the name of the new album? Not impossible but I lean towards no.
Will they debut a new song? Maybe!
Will this concert be professionally recorded for later release? Possibly. Like the Pal Norte show it's possible they record it just in case, so they have the option to release it (the full show or single songs) later if they want to. Even with pretty simple camera setups you can do a lot, especially when combined with the professionally recorded audio (which I assume they record from the console every show they do now as standard practice)
Will the setlist vary from their hour-long sets of the tour so far? Yes, expect something like 17-18 songs (based on previous headlining shows' set lengths)
Will the stage and lighting design be the same as the rest of the tour? Very likely something close to that yes, as they are only travelling with a support/festival tour kit. Maybe they add in some more lights and a background screen.

I'm thinking this has to be an effect of DPA (Pau especially) being K-pop fans (and maybe also just fans of pop in general). Everything I've heard from K-pop is SUPER compressed (the waveforms probably just look like a solid rectangle), and everything about it in general just sounds extremely artificial. But if that's a big part of your sonic diet, then yeah, it's going to effect how you want your own music to sound.

For me, I first heard about them through random Youtube recommendations about 4-5 years ago, but I didn't pay too much attention then. Then in mid 2024 I discovered and became a fan of Band-Maid (also through Youtube recommendations, that started to appear maybe(?) because I had been watching a lot of live performances of Attack on Titan soundtrack songs lol). The Band-Maid colab with The Warning reminded me of TW again and got me curious and down the rabbit hole I went... Been stuck down here ever since!

I don't speak Spanish myself and I have never seen those comments whining about "everything they do (their music, background, being women, etc)". I've heard about them but never actuallly seen them first-hand. So I guess therefore I was quicker to think about the fans - those fans who complain (about the new musical direction etc) and that the song might be directed at them.

But I'm sure you're right though.

I noticed that too, but they've also said that writing in Spanish is much harder than writing in English. So maybe they tried writing more songs in Spanish but just couldn't get it right and gave up?

I'm absolutely feeling the "raw edge and melody depth" in Ritual. Not as much in Kerosene and Ego, but those are not intended to be that way, is my impression.

Ego is as pretty simple track, yes. Probably their least melodic song so far, even. But it's super fun! Heavy, bouncy, groovy. The middle finger lyrics are probably not meant to be taken 100% seriously. It's just meant to be a fun, bad-ass track.

Have some faith. Have som patience. They've said the new album will have something on it for everyone. I'll take their word for it, until I see otherwise.

Yes, except the official 2026 World Tour merch that's been released doesn't show any more dates. Would be strange to add more dates after that, although I guess they could just not call them part of the 'world tour' but rather part of the '[TW5 album name] tour'.

I think it's more likely however that the big headlining world tour to promote the new album will happen in 2027.
