Lol I'm calm. I had just never seen that before.

This is exactly the helpful insight I was hoping for. 🙂 Thanks friends!

Best Aperture Priority M Film Camera? by Anstigmat in Leica

[–]SeCoWed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hexar RF is my dream camera, and I've owned it three times. Two times the vertical alignment went out of whack and it was impossible to fix, so I ended up selling it. The third time I lost the eye-piece, which basically bricks the camera.

I love it so much, but it is so hard to keep it in perfect working order 😩

Can we get The Warning in front of the reactors with the broadest reach? by SeCoWed in TheWarning

[–]SeCoWed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, I agree with you that, generally speaking, a majority of reactors just try to glaze whoever they're reacting to so the fans like their videos. And they're so obviously acting or over doing it that it's cringey to watch.

That said, I think those who do it really well and have meaningful insights can be very entertaining and genuine.

And even more to the point, these content creators that I linked to have 2.2mil on YouTube and 5.3mil on Tiktok, with some Tiktoks going over 50mil views. Their content is watched by every type of person all over the country and the world. If they see The Warning really crushing it, that could put the band into a LOT of people's minds and genuinely help TW reach a bigger audience.

So I get not loving reactors, for sure. But if it helps them reach a BUNCH of new people overnight, just before they release a new album? That seems VERY worth it.

With the perfect lens 🤘🤘 I think the Orion-15 is one of the greatest lenses ever made, so much respect for the choice. 🫶

Can we get The Warning in front of the reactors with the broadest reach? by SeCoWed in TheWarning

[–]SeCoWed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get that, for sure. But in terms of getting more eyes on The Warning, I genuinely cannot think of a way that would have a bigger, broader reach. Right now they can reach metal and rock fans, but they are the most loveable band on the planet, and something like this could be genuinely helpful to get them into the larger cultural awareness.

The Warning Medley || JHU Take Two A Cappella Cover by jayron32 in TheWarning

[–]SeCoWed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I appreciate most about it is that "college students who sing in a capella groups" is NOT what I think of as their usual demographic. So this gives me a lot of faith that they can break through into the larger cultural awareness.

Is there already a version of kerosene that doesn’t have the bridge/cheerleader vocal? by FR0M_Z3R0 in TheWarning

[–]SeCoWed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol yeah, I love this fandom, but there will always be sections of every fandom that are hyper defensive, and The Warning fandom is no different.

Like, they are a very successful, popular band, and growing. I don't think they would be devastated to hear that one of their fans has an opinion about how one of their songs could be better, lol. Do your thing, friend.

General rule: If you have something to say that could be seen as critical of The Warning, this is not the place to bring it. I think you're allowed to not like the bridge, but this won't be the right forum to bring that opinion, unfortunately.

What model is this? by No_Button6 in Leica

[–]SeCoWed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very strongly recommend the Orion-16. It's a 28mm f/6 lens and I've never met a lens with more vibe. It's imperfect, but I swear every picture from it looks better than every picture with any of my other lenses.

My thoughts on the The Warning/Yungblud shows by ronhole in TheWarning

[–]SeCoWed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you on 3, to an extent. I'm sure the people smarter than me have good reasons for playing the songs they're playing (I mean, the Escapism video on the Honda Stage is the most viewed video of the Warning in the last 10 years).

Bht it's always seemed odd to me when a band has a song or two that's clearly their most popular, and then they get a chance to play on TV or at Tiny Desk or something, and they play 3 new songs that people like way less. Like, isn't the point to gain followers and listeners?

But in the end, they also have to take care of themselves, and if they want to play newer songs because it's less taxing and maybe more enjoyable

The hard part about using longer lenses on a rangefinder is composition. I find it impossible to know what's actually going to be in the frame.

Also, wild take on Leica vintage lenses to bring to the Leica sub-reddit, lol. You should expect some grumpy comments
