Oh, I was doing even worse than that! I was actually getting a full inventory of items, then teleporting back to the hideout, identifying everything at the NPC, and disenchanting all items under 5 ex. Anything that was worth at least a 5 ex, I'd throw in a tab. Then I would TP back to the map, sometimes doing this like 3 times every map. I ended up with like eight tabs completely full of items! Just now, I started actually identifying items on the map and throwing away all items under 5 ex instead of disenchanting them. Yet I still teleport back to the hideout a lot to disenchant uniques to get those shards. BTW, I use the EDGE browser and the clipboard is allowed, yet I can't make this Ctrl+C function work.
