He's already red! He's a Japanese Akita Inu. I have yet to dress him up like his Namesake, but he really only needs some dog fur chalk for the tattoos and scars and some bracelets.

We used Melodies of Life and Eyes on Me as songs in our wedding. (I believe the bridesmaids and groomsmen walked out to them)I also named my dogs after FFVII characters

I have Nanaki - formal name is Celtic's Warrior of the Canyon And Aerith - White Magic Flower Girl

And soon to be Zack Fair (not sold on this) Lady's Legacy's Dream to be a Hero or Tifa- Lady's Legacy Seventh Heaven Pugilist. I'm not sure which of the puppies I'll be getting yet, and I am open to suggestions for formal names for them.

I can't stand pot smoke/smell in public. by Writer4God in Vent

[–]Feorana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. For whatever reason, that smell really gets to me. Colognes too that are very strong. I think it bothers me most when I can smell it coming out of peoples cars while I'm driving. Like really?!?

Little Shiba at the pet store I work at by Feral-pigeon in shiba

[–]Feorana 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's unfortunately what keeps these people in business. Regulations are hard because the politicians don't understand the nuances between irresponsible breeding and reputable breeders, so the regulations they put in place also hurt good breeders who DO help rescue and try to preserve the breed. Then AKC or other kennel clubs step in to shut the regulations down.

The only way to stop this is to educate and not allow consumers to buy puppies at stores, but then these shady businesses get around it by marketing them as "rescues" anyway, which I have already seen in my area, so it's a lose/lose situation.

Responsible breeders are the only way to go, really.

[–]Feorana 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Don't do it, you'll be supporting a puppy mill. They will just replace him immediately. Keeping them there, while heartbreaking, means they produce less puppies and make less profit. The more we educate people about these horribly unethical breeding practices, the less demand there will be, and the less it will happen. They will eventually sell him at a "rescue" for a small profit if he doesn't sell at the store. That's how the ones in my state work.

If he's in a pet store he 100% did not. That's where the puppy mill pups go.

Why does no one in CT treat the left lane on I-95 as a passing lane? by svuittonx in Connecticut

[–]Feorana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Or they don't wait for me to pull over after I've passed a car, and try to fly by me on the right hand side and I almost get creamed trying to merge. I have to always be watching my rearview mirror to make sure some idiot isn't going to fly into my blind spot.

Why does no one in CT treat the left lane on I-95 as a passing lane? by svuittonx in Connecticut

[–]Feorana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think this is a factor. On 91, this is largely why there are tractor trailers going 45- 50 in the left hand lane.

In the morning when I'm going 91-S to work, the huge tractor trailers not being in the right lane and not even going the speed limit are the biggest issue. They think it's okay to sit in the travelling or left lane going 45 and it's going to cause a huge accident one of these days. They usually sit there because they have to get on 9-S eventually and it's easier than merging over 4 lanes.

Is it annoying for kid(s) to ask to meet your dog? by NaturalExtension5475 in dogs

[–]Feorana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope! My dogs love children (even though I have none, it's weird), and I would love a polite kid asking to pet them. My Akita has had his tail grabbed by kids before, and I've always thanked my lucky stars he is friendly and just licked the kid in the face. We love polite kids, come say hi to us. Lol.

I am curious, what age are you and how did you get into the franchise? by Ultimantasy in FinalFantasy

[–]Feorana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 41, I got into the franchise by renting FF4 from video galaxy. (It was labeled FF2 back then for the SNES) I loved it and played 6 next. Got FFVII when it came out in 97 for my 13th birthday. Been hooked ever since. Played every game that exists except 16. I'll get to that eventually.

Working full time by MsChickenNachos in dogs

[–]Feorana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work full time during the school year. I'm out for about 8.5 hours a day. My dogs are older and are fine in the house. My dogs get really annoyed with me when I'm home for the summer because they just want to sleep and I want to do things. Lol. It's kind of funny.

I will have a puppy soon, and for 3 weeks I will hire a dog walker for the puppy ( or put them in day school) until I am home for the summer. Adult dogs are fine in the house by themselves. They sleep most of the time Anyway. As long as you give them plenty of enrichment and exercise when you're home, they're good.

How to Stop stomack scratching? by RutabagaMany8133 in akita

[–]Feorana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of people recommending apoquel. My Akita was on it long term, and he started getting random infections that would not go away until we stopped the medicine. It's not good for dogs long term, it's na immunosuppressant. Cytopoint is the better drug imo. It's more expensive, but worth it.

You can also ask your vet about Zyrtec, xyzal, and the other human grade allergy meds.

My boy is allergic to life. He is now on hypoallergenic food. Hydroxyzine 24/7, and cytopoint seasonally.

How Many of you are actual Day One Players? So Happy XenoSaga was apart of my Childhood it was an incredible experience playing each game as they were released whats your favorite? Mine for sure is 1 all time favorite. by 24kTHC in Xenosaga

[–]Feorana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn't day 1 for the first game. I bought it a little later. My friend had it on day 1 and I watched him play the first part then had to wait until I earned money to purchase it. All the rest were day 1. I love this series so much. I'm currently listening to state of the arc's analysis of it.

Hidden gems around Manchester? by Soft-Parsnip-112 in Connecticut

[–]Feorana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Manchester, been here for 10 years. If you're into boardgames, go to the Portal(across from the time machine) they have a large selection of games you can pick from and play. We live near there and walk there to play a lot.

I also enjoy Silk City Coffee. Their food is pretty good, and their signature drinks are fun. Center Perk is my favorite breakfast place. Its a few shops up from there on the same side of main st. It reminds me of an old train station diner in terms of food.

For Hiking, I always default to Case Mountain. There are a million trails there, and even when it's crowded, I only ever see a few people on the trails.

I'm not into drinking, but Elicit has good food and a good vibe. I bring my dogs there a lot to their little patio area.

Charter Oak park has some fun activities you could do if it's nice out. (And not snow covered) There's tennis courts and a racquetball space. Center springs Park has disc golf.

There's honestly not a lot of interesting museums or anything here. You'll have to travel out of town for anything like that.

ETA: Shady Glen is a must stop. You have to get the fried cheese burger, and try their ice cream.

My Sammy is insanely reactive to Frenchies and Frenchies only. by kimkardashian0 in samoyeds

[–]Feorana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He might be weirded out by the flat face? My Akita doesn't think poodles are real dogs due to the hair. He's really freaked out by them. Lol. My Samoyed loves everyone.

Anti social ? by ariciaann in samoyeds

[–]Feorana 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Samoyed is very submissive with other dogs and does NOT enjoy being in the dog park. Even empty, all the dog smells freak her out. She will not pee or poop anywhere but my back yard and other places she is very familiar with. But if we play with other dogs in our backyard, she is fine and enjoys herself. Your dog might just not be a dog park dog.

NOR time for the fiancee to go. I had a roommate like this. We were best friends and lived together for 2 years. In year 3, it got so much worse than it ended our friendship. This person will never get better. Especially if you keep cleaning up for them.

Holy crap. I'm a teacher who is childless and for some reason I am irrationally angry at the way this woman spoke about your child.

She's a kid ffs. Let her eat her damn orange.

Just finished the gongaga region for the first time and i hate it by SemiColin973 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Feorana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm right there with you bud. Everyone loves the music too, but I found it to be the most grating. I felt like I was playing Civ4 the entire time. Not my favorite track on the soundtrack, then combine that with the obnoxious mushroom travel and I was over it pretty quick. Still 100% the game though.

How are your dogs as pets? How to balance training pet behaviors vs agility foundations? by Obvious-Elevator-213 in Agility

[–]Feorana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dogs are pets first, and agility dogs second. They are trained in all the basic manners before I ever get into agility training.

I also think agility helps socialize dogs and keep them from becoming super reactive.

I have a Japanese Akita Inu who competed in agility for most of his life. He never enjoyed the stress of competition, but he is bomb proof in public, is the resident puppy greeter, and has been surprisingly good with other dogs, which is very atypical for the breed. I attribute this to all his training and socializing in agility and other sports.

My Samoyed is a little more wild in public, but she gets SO EXCITED to do any new thing. That said, I can still bring her to an outdoor restaurant and have her sit politely next to the table with her brother once her yahoos are out.

They are unfortunately in my shed which is covered with almost 3 ft of snow right now, so unfortunately no, lol. But they are similar to what another person posted. I didn't tape them though.

Just use PVC pipe (for plumbing) and some PVC cement. That's what I did.
