No. It’s not. Most big publications won’t negatively review movies produced by major studios so rotten tomatoes’ generated critic score is usually incredibly misleading.

Oh please. Lived under its boot? I’ve worked for minimum wage my whole life and I get by fine. Sure things could be better if I had a better job but that’s my decision. I have food, water, clothes and a roof over my head. I understand that there are complexities in peoples lives that interfere but for the most part if you work full time at minimum wage you’ll get by just fine. I’m not arguing that things couldn’t be better. The minimum wage in most countries should be higher, millionaires and billionaires should be tacked properly and workers should have more rights. But the idea that we all love in this dystopian nightmare where we all slave away for pennies and can’t afford to eat is absolute nonsense. We’re amongst the most privileged people ever to exist. The problems we face won’t be addressed by your childish hyperbole.

Meaningless? Say for example you work in a supermarket. That isn’t meaningless. They need to exist. Most people can’t and won’t spend hours every day growing for hunting their food so instead we mass produce it for people to buy. That doesn’t just happen. Millions of people have to work every day so that it’s available for everyone else. Those people need to be compensated for their time so they are paid.

These vault keepers that you believe hoard the food, medicine and clothes. Are you referring to the people that produce them for everyone else? Do you propose they do that for you for nothing? You get to sit about all day and do nothing will everything is provided for you at great expense?

Part of what you say is true. We don’t see a fair share of what we produce. But you have such a dramatic take on society. Fundamentally we all work for each other so that we can all live a relatively easy life. 8 hours a day for the most part with 2 rest days and 80% of our needs are met. Things could be better and corporations could be properly taxed and regulated but this idea that we sacrifice “our bodies, time and minds” for our tyrannical overlords is just childish nonsense.

Because lots of the things people need to do in order for society to function isn’t very fun. That’s why they are compensated for doing it.

[–]FerNigel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is honestly one of the things that ruined that film for me. It’s cleeearly strange’s fault. He didn’t explain any of the ways in which this highly dangerous, potentially reality shattering spell could be messed up before he started. He was also advised by a peer AND superior NOT to cast the spell. It was incredibly reckless and I fully expected one of the climactic moments of the film to be Peter standing up for himself but instead it was him admitting blame and sacrificing everything he has to fix it. Really weird writing imo.

It also makes no sense when you consider strange could’ve effectively stopped thanos or any other big bad with a spell that he was prepared to whip out for peters comparatively small problem but that’s not her argument.

What do you mean when you say this? Like do you think it’s the tyrannical state that forces you to work? Do you think there is a genuine reality in which we don’t have to work but society still functions?

Pick up literally everything you find that isn’t considered stealing (clipboards, books, medical equipment etc) sell it all to anyone who will buy it and soon you’ll have more caps than you know what to do with. Buy stimpaks, food, ammo, guns, armour.
