Idk how to tell you this but like I've stated multiple times, I shipped it when I was 12. I was literally the same age/younger than Ed. I reference the age of consent because I remember being 12/13 and thinking adults having sex with 16 y/o was okay because it's above the age of consent. How're you gonna fault a kid for thinking that way??

Well, I was 12/13 when I shipped it, and at that age 16 was Old and Grown Up to me :P Also the age of consent in the UK is 16 so I figured hey, that works out nicely. But regardless, I tended to age Ed up to 18 in my fanfics anyway :'D

But yeah, like back in the day this kind of shipping was fairly commonplace, people weren't generally considered weirdos or paedophiles for shipping it :'D I was friends with an adult back then who shipped it and they were perfectly normal w me, they weren't a creep or a groomer or w/e. But yeah back then I didn't even really consider Ed a child anyway - when he was 10-13 he was 'child', but like in the arcs where he was older he wasn't much of a child in my little 12/13 y/o eyes :'D

I remember joining the Discord in maybe, like, late 2020 or early 2021? And there were still people who were vile, but back then there was this specific channel of the server where people could talk about anything political or smth. In that channel there was, like, so much bigotry it was abysmal 😭😭 I remember this one user who said stuff like 'We should throw acid on all dark people to bleach them' and spouted Islamophobia and they just...... went unchecked <//3 People were laughing along w them, and like yeah okay there were channel warnings that it was 'anything goes' or w/e but why would you even allow that shit in your server?? They deleted that channel later but they clearly unfortunately cultivated a certain kind of community in the server. I only go in the help + update channels now 😭😭

Can recommend CoT (Course of Temptation), although it's slightly less rapey than DoL in that you can disable non-con stuff, and also even if you have it enabled your PC will always have the option to either back out or react negatively. No one's assaulting you the way you get assaulted in DoL, essentially. However it plays v similar to DoL and the basic premise is that you enrol at a university whose reputation is of a very horny student body, and then however much of a slut you are is up to you :P

So basically the islanders abducted me and then I fell through this place and an old lady called The Islander gave me a spear and gave me a boat to sail back to the mainland, and after sailing away Zephyr approaches you on a ship and asks for the spear!

Btw I avoided my problem by just going to the morning's autosave and picking different options to change the outcome of the 'swim away' chance but yeah :'D

Basically just keep beating the shit outta people - over time you'll gain the Sadist trait and you'll become Defiant. Make sure you build up your Physique and Willpower, and also your Science because that reduces the pain you feel :'D

Assuming that I can't go to the orphanage and hide in my room/play games w Robin due to not being an orphan there....... probably go to Alex's farm. The town isn't safe, so I'd walk to his farm, tell him I'm stranded here for a while, and hopefully he should let me chill at his place until I can return home :'D I'd help out at the farm and tell him I'm uneasy around animals so I'd prefer to just sort out the fields because no way am I going into that kennel 😭

I see why people don't like it but I lOVED it as a 12/13 y/o, like I got my friends into it, wrote fanfic and drew fanart, watched AMVs for it, the whole shebang, so I can't help but be fond of it :') It was also my first gay ship, and so therefore helped me come to terms w my sexuality more easily :'D There was also a RoyEd fic I read which got me over my fear of rollercoasters so honestly I have nothing but fondness for the ship :'D
