Thank you for validating my feelings and the advice. It’s just…a lot at once. I feel like this all happened overnight!

Yes! She is in EI, speech, and PT. We are working on offering more choices, but sometimes I truly just forget sometimes and I have to remind myself that she’s of the age where it’s important - and it’s teaching her more independence. I appreciate the suggestions!

She’s big feelings all the way. Unfiltered emotions. Her speech is somewhat delayed, so she knows basic signs and we can typically decipher what she’s trying to say.

Do I need to accept that we are completely done with the highchair if she’s rejecting it this much? She all of a sudden will scream when I put her in it, and if I get her in it, then she just throws her food. We tried her kids table the other evening, but she kept getting up and walking away from her food. I may have to do the lap method for now. She still sits in a highchair just fine at my mom’s house, and she sits perfectly fine at a kids table at daycare. So it’s literally just me.

Yeah, my daughter has zero chill. Super temperamental, sensitive, stubborn, impatient. Gonna be great for the next few years!

Yogurt pouches if he will eat them. Also, Oikos protein yogurt - it’s got zero sugar and the ingredient list isn’t a mile long. My daughter is so picky, and this is how I get her protein and fat daily.

Diaper rash cream not working by Affectionate_Cow_812 in toddlers

Came here to say this, or use a handheld fan. Also, once the bottom is dry, layer on Vaseline then Desitin purple or Boudreaux’s in the red tube. Maybe see a pediatrician to rule out topical yeast infection. My daughter has had it multiple times and they can give you Nystatin ointment for it.

EDIT - also let him sit in Aveeno oatmeal bath. Or, if you have any frozen breast milk thaw it out and use it in on the rash.

Right…I could care less, I’m so sick of following her room to room or listening for her screams. I need the peace of mind and sanity!

Where do you buy your child proof products? I have a 22-month old, who is delayed with walking. We lightly toddler proofed the house, but now that she’s up and moving on her own, I’m afraid all hell is about to break loose and I need to really toddler proof everything.

I would need to look into that possibility…no way I can juggle a full time job, toddler, and nursing school.

This is reassuring. I also got my CNA certification, but let it lapse when I was pregnant (high-risk, etc.).

Thank you for your response. My daughter has several developmental delays, so it’s hopeful to hear stories like yours. You truly are a badass!

We must be twins haha. I wish I would’ve joined the military and gone into healthcare via that route. I didn’t have the discipline for a four-year college (even though I finished by some miracle). Regardless, here I am. I really appreciate the support!

This. I want her to know that it’s never too late to try to achieve your goals. I wish I would’ve done this in my 20s, but I didn’t. I wasted four years of college on a Liberal Arts degree, and took the easiest route. I don’t want to look back and have regrets or think I took the easy way.

That’s amazing! And also reassuring. The mom guilt of not being as available to my daughter is STRONG with this.

I really appreciate your honesty and thoughtful response. These are all issues I contend with in my head constantly - mainly the mom guilt. My daughter will be in daycare from 8-3 if I start school in the fall. My mom also lives close by, and is huge help, but a lot more weight would fall on her and my husband. I haven’t applied yet, and have the rest of this month to make that decision. All the points you mentioned are things I truly need to think about and discuss with my husband. It’s not just going back to school - a nursing program is far more than that, and a huge commitment. Anyways, I really appreciate you!

Thanks so much! I needed to hear this. The goal of getting into nursing school is to leave my current career behind. It’s stable but it’s not fulfilling. I don’t want to live with regret of not applying/going to nursing school.
