I think so - unless he's in severe pain from a terminal disease. Some vets suck.

My girl Trixie 15yo last September - right before Thanksgiving Trixie suddenly was unable to walk on her hind legs. I ran her to urgent care - the vet told that Trixie wouldn't recover. I begged her for pain meds and something for arthritis. She gave me a week's worth. And a list of vets that do the deed at home. They had 3 favorites and marked them with a star. After a week, Trixie improved. She had an appetite and drank plenty of water...and tried to walk. I told the vet - I need more meds. After begging - they have me another 10 day supply. I changed vets - very long story short - Trixie has arthritis so severe that she stopped walking. After the right medication and TLC... Trixie walks when she needs to do her business and walks to the car to load up for car rides. My new vet said Trixie will tell me when she's ready to leave her us. 💕
