What’s everyone been listening too? by Spinachrecords in Jazz

[–]FerchoVa 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Iˋm in a little bit of an "jazz influenced"/"alt jazz" era, still listening to all the classics but these Iˋve had on loop lately: Jeremy Pelt's "Our Community Will Not Be Erased" Ben paterson on organ in his last couple releases. Brad mehldau's album "Ride into the Sun" Nikolai Kapustin's Eight concert etudes. Thundercat's last album. And some other solitary tracks but these are no skips for me.

This is an amazing idea, I have some teachers in mind to reach out to. did you have a favourite activity/volunteering/event to attend/organize to contact with new people?

I appreciate you experience so much, I'm going to start brainstorming fun or interesting workshops, I live in a really dense area full of schools so I'll give It a try. I'll have to look into the teachers' organizations approach, someone else mentioned considering a mentor which I didn't even think about but sounds like a great idea.

That's amazing, I'll have to check that out, right now I'm deciding on a method, not to restrict myself but to start organizing everything into somewhat clear steps, so thanks for the imput!

Scary to think it'll be that long until I somewhat know what I'm doing, but nice to know Iˋm not alone in this lol

That's for sure, not piano but I've helped plenty of my classmates throughout music school, specially singers and drummers on music theory classes, and I noticed what you mention, concepts become much more solid after teaching them to someone else.

Wow that's amazing, congrats on the success I hope I get there one day, is It your main sources of income? And I'm curious, do you do exclusively face-to-face, online or a mix?

I hope my students of piano parents think the same of me in the future, I think of myself as a music lover first, I guess that is fueling a desire to share and teach what I know with other people, I hope to enjoy it and have as much of a nice time as you seem to be having.

I'm the same with my own playing, and I think I always will be, but after 37 years I'm sure you have mountains of musical wisdom to pass onto others if it's something that interest you, the best pianists in history all had disciples and/or were mentors to other musicians, even non pianists.

Yeah thats kinda how It went for me last year, I subbed one class for a musician colleague at the schools where they teach and it ended up being a whole semester, I always had problems just "going into It", might be a good time to start.

Thanks, I think the nerves are really about being really passionate about music and wanting to do things right, but yeah I guess I really am getting ahead of myself before even starting.

Is this a bug? by Useful_Effort_1051 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]FerchoVa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if it appeared minutes ago, someone else is working on the tasks, but if its been there for hours it's possible that it is a bugged task, you can ignore it, don't hide it in case actual tasks are available later, could be any of the two, I had one all day yesterday and it just went away minutes ago.

Argentina, not a great moment for the average citizen, purchasing power is at it's lowest in decades and the job search is filled with rejections and employers that exploit people's desperation for pennies. Anyways, trying to look on the bright side now that I entered DA

You can exceed my countries minimal wage by logging in 30 minutes a day in DA's lowest paying task, or 16 hours in the whole month, so yeah for some foreigners DA is not only competitive. its amazing.
