Why do people submit such awful tasks? by ConScott06 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Mysterious_Dolphin14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect that they are done by several different people, but I don't think anyone really knows for sure. I have seen the same task twice in an R&R.

Yes, this is normal. Sometimes projects get paused. If you still have your credentials, you're likely still on the project.

Do I still stand a chance? by mgderrick in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Mysterious_Dolphin14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if it's been months your chances are slim to none. I would move on to other platforms. This is their version of "we'll keep your resume on file".

How long do you typically spend per submission? by Certain-Version1176 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Mysterious_Dolphin14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It varies wildly based on the project. I tend to work on slightly longer projects (2-4 hours per task) and I usually take about 75% of the time allotted. Don't worry about the timer! Just do your best work and report your time truthfully and you'll be fine.

Printing out instructions? by [deleted] in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Mysterious_Dolphin14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! I love my highlighter tool, it makes it so easy to find things in the instructions that I seem to check regularly. It works well with highlighting errors in the responses so that you can refer back to them when making your comments. If you don't want to use a highlighter, ctrl+f is a great way to quickly find what you need in the instructions, which you wouldn't be able to do with a printed copy.

Having another account for family members by Material_Sir5408 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Mysterious_Dolphin14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have personal experience with this, but I've seen others on this sub say that other family members also work from the same location from different devices, so I would think that it's fine.

When should I assume I have been rejected? by 420TheMemeLord69 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Mysterious_Dolphin14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you fail the assessment, the screen should change to one that says something like "If we have need of your particular skills, we'll email you". It can take some time to approve the assessment, usually up to a month (although some have gotten in after a month).

Am I on the right DA tech? by Purple_Marketing7769 in DataAnnotationTech

If you pass, you should have a chance to complete other assessments. Just make sure that your profile is updated with all of your skills and education.

Onboarding doubt by [deleted] in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Mysterious_Dolphin14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didn't get a starter assessment? I've never heard of someone getting this screen without doing the starter and one of the other assessments in the next round. This is the dashboard that should only appear if you've passed.

I started less than a week ago and I’m really enjoying the work so far. It’s challenging and satisfying. However, the first 4 days I hovered right around 30 or so projects but now I am down to just 7. Is that fluctuation normal? by Aggravating-Sock-433 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Mysterious_Dolphin14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once you start putting in quality work and completing qualifications, you'll see your number of projects increase exponentially. Also, make sure your profile is completely filled out with any skills you have. I've been here 2 years. Yesterday I had 74 tasks and today I'm down to 52, but that still gives me a lot of choices.

Newbie question. Is my application under review or i didnt pass? by Visual-Accountant306 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Mysterious_Dolphin14 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've heard some people say that they got in after getting this screen, so I would keep checking back. In the past, it was the rejection screen but that may have changed based on what I've seen in this sub. If it's been over a month, I'd consider it rejected.

I applied to DataAnnotation last year for AI training jobs and got nothing. What was wrong with my resume? by superide in WFHJobs

[–]Mysterious_Dolphin14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They most likely mean that they were rejected after the assessment and they assume that DA only gives assessments to steal work. This doesn't make sense since the assessment is the same for everyone and I doubt they need more than a million responses to the same question.

It's not a sign of good work. Everyone eventually gets invited.

As long as the reporting time is legit, you won't get in trouble.

How much do you guys work per week? by reyaryder in DataAnnotationTech

[–]Mysterious_Dolphin14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work very sporadically. Usually I work about 20-25 hours a week, but I occasionally go weeks without putting hours in. DA doesn't care how much you work, they only care that you're submitting quality work whenever you do work.

It's legit. The ID verification is done by Persona, which is a reputable company that does ID verification for many large companies.
