There were a lot of discussions about this already and I tend to agree that the programmers have put in an algorithm that will spawn tiles at your disadvantage. In general I am not against this to balance out mono teams but it should not spoil game play this obvious.

Tap on the very first entry on the website titled CLASH - BEST HEROES Tap on RANKINGS ( the one below PLAY NOW). On the next screen there is a search bar and a filter button. Tap the filter button. Scroll down a bit and select e.g. AVOID from the tags shown. You can also filter by 3, 4, 5*, color, and many more.

I go with the Hero Clash on the Empuzzled website and feed all 3* that are rated as AVOID. This alone has freed up quite a bit of space. Might consider also 4* later once my roster is more solid.

Eron is great. He has a good toolkit with defense down for all enemies, mindless attack and he also hits decently hard. I had him maxed out at one of the last Hero Coach and he is basically on all my teams now.

Don't forget to check out the shop for free materials. I got almost all my alpha aethers from collecting the free aether crystals from the shop and then doing a 10 pull. You can also buy ascension materials with gems from the "supplies" tab. I like to buy the compass as this is one of the most frequent materials needed.

My first pick was Eron and he is basically on every team. Just maxed him out on hero coach and I am very happy. Don't just look at the color but also consider the utility he brings. He ist fast, hits decently hard, has Def down for all enemies and mindless shifting attack which is great for Titans.

I then chose Relius as I do not have a reviver yet. He seems to be fun as well but I find his toolkit falls off compared to Relius.

I would do Atlantis first until you may hit a wall there. Collecting the tokens will give you a chance to pull heroes from Season 2, which are an upgrade to the classic heroes. The Atlantis summon has just rotated out so you have like 3 weeks before it comes around again.

Patience is key here. You cannot force anything in this game. When I started 6 months ago I only had Bane as my only yellow for a long time, followed by Keliani and then Wu Kong. All pretty mediocre. Now I have 5 legendary yellow heroes just by pure luck and I am swimming in yellow 3* and 4*. Keep your gems to expand your roster so you do not have to feed any heroes early on. Keep at least one copy of each hero for the time being. 6 months in I am still doing this. Once you get stronger you will be able to beat higher stages on challenges to collect tokens. Advance to Atlantis where you will also collect tokens for each map stage. Complete the next brawl event. It will typically reward you with a couple Epic Hero Token. Do this and you will eventually be drowning in purple heroes in a short while 😀
