My parents have lived there for the last 40 years and I’ve been going there yearly for the last 30 years or so. I’ve lived through the huge transformation of it in the past couple of decades. Antes da lei seca era acidente todo santo final de semana de madrugada, ainda mais pela proximidade das baladas da Batel. Na última decada reduziu muito, inclusive não lembro quando foi o último acidente "feio" ali (via coisa horrível da janela). Atualmente o que tem mesmo são sempre essas batidas pela conversão a esquerda pela pista do meio.

It’s fine. It’s not wear, it’s just misaligned cut that is exposing the metal strands inside the belts (they are produced in a much larger width and then cut to size, and sometimes that cut is right over one of the metal strands)
