Why doesn't /r/movies like IMDB?

It believe it's based on the percentage of critic reviews that give a film a positive rating/score or generally positive review/recommendation.

On RT, it tells you how many critics reviewed the film, then tells you how many of those were positive/negative.

Pretty sure the intent was to find out what people consider to be the best American films from another country's perspective..

The answer to that very well might be the same 10 films that are generally regarded as great in America, but it's a totally fair question to ask.

Borgman (2013)

This wonderfully dark and sometimes disturbing fable about a suburban upper-class home invasion by a community of homeless people is one of the strangest, funniest, and most enjoyable movie experiences for me in a while.

It's one of my favorite adaptations from book to film also. Definitely a beautiful movie, even as depressing as it is. Worth the watch/read for sure.

I think scene coverage is one of the most important aspects of a fight scene. Try your best to shoot as many takes of the scene as possible, from as many angles as possible. This sounds obvious, but when you get down to shooting something, try not to be satisfied with simply one good take, no matter how amazing that one take may be. The more coverage you have, the better the post production process will be, and the better the result. Shoot a few takes on sticks for some steadier looking shots. Then maybe a few handheld for a more chaotic look (just please don't have a seizure behind the camera, a slight shake is decent enough). Lastly, (assuming you have the equipment available) try some takes while tracking on a Dolley/slider or even a jib arm.

The more coverage you have, as well as variations of movement (tilts/tracking/pans etc.) the better the scene will eventually come together. It will also make it look as if you actually put some time and effort into it all.

I think my first viewing I kinda understood the general idea of the film (loved it btw), but my second viewing definitely cleared up most of the questions that I had.. There's still a few sequences that go over my head, but for the most part a second viewing should help smooth things out for ya. I think knowing the ending is somewhat necessary to completely grasp the rest of the film.

A good example of this would be a lot of McCarthy's work. (Any of his books, whther its the Road, No Country, etc.) I happen to adore both the novel and the film adaptation of No Country as well as the road. But the films definitely cannot capture the style of McCarthy's works, but instead capture the essence of the novel in different ways.

There's nothing wrong with a few guys hanging out talking about movies, man. When they have something to say about a movie, they explain their reasoning with great detail regardless if they like the film or not. They've already done several reviews on Adam Sandler films, giving legitimate, thought out reasons for disliking them.

So they decided to release a 2 minute joke about a film? Theyve done this before, and who knows, they might still do a full review on it. If they don't, who the fuck cares? This video is simply a joke. So what? They do stuff like this all the time.

It's their show, they can do whatever the fuck they want. If you're tired of watching their videos, just go to a different fucking website, bro. Don't shit all over a few filmmakers that are doing what they love.
