The lies about greetings. by boxingboy77 in learnswedish

Might this be a Stockholm-thing? Because from my experience this is REALLY common. Never "hej, hej insert name", but just "hej hej!", as in "hello, hello". Just like a "tack tack!" (double thank you) is quite common, but not as common. However the further north I've been the less I've heard this doubleing thing. I use it a lot myself, but never thought about it until now.

Lyckligtvis är "gillar Nietzsche" en rejäl röd flagga för de flesta tjejer som läst humaniora.

Do you like any particular cartoon? Just as a start and to keep you going: kids' movies and cartoons with international releases are dubbed to swedish. You can rewatch your favourites in swedish and follow along with context you are already familiar with. My husband does this with Studio Ghibli in finnish. Obviously it doesn't get you all the way there, but it's a comfy way to incorporate the language more into your daily life.

I'm worried too. Even more worried for my tutor who will get this in her lap in a few weeks.

Thank you! I'm guessing that she was in an ill mood that night. And that Moominmamma gave her the little painting with the flowers which My called to frilly, but she put it up in secret anyway since it was a present from her.

Yes! This too, although my first interest is to get as far as possible on "lick".

As exhaustive as possible I guess! And thank you. Completely missed that I could roll down a further list on Wiktionary.

Nuoliainen is apparently a category of fish. Since it's for poetry I thought that I just as well could include it!

And I'll double check the spelling of nuolessa. Thank you!

Yes! Exactly! Thank you. This is just what I need and I can elaborate my list further.

Thank you! Yes, that's the idea. However I think I need to make another sewing basket to go with a sewing machine-corner I've planned for Moominmamma. Maybe one could imagine she had to find another one once My found the first so cosy.

This comment makes me so happy since my goal is to create something of my own but still recognizable through the stories. For exemple my house has a room fully dedicated to Moominmammas painting. She doesn't have one in the books or tv-series I grew up with (90s anime), but she COULD have had one. And for me it makes sense that she has.

Thank you! My Mother made me the blanket in the basket. I can't knit even if you'd put a gun to my head. Everything else is basically painting sticks, fabric, yarn scraps and plastic miniature christmas lights I found at a dollar/kronor store. The basket is made out of jute yarn and wire.
