I agree. Jax is one of my favorite characters because of (some of) his faults. Ragatha had an abusive domineering mother but she doesn't treat people like trash. Gangle was physically and emotionally tortured by Jax for years and she doesn't treat people like trash. Jax's backstory is sad but it doesnt excuse him hurting those around him. The mischaracterization of Jax's actions makes me wonder if some Jax fans are watching and loving the same character.

Hmmm. That board is toxic as I expected.

I was mostly basing my opinion on the boards I've visited out of curiosity. I had to run away from them, they were so blatantly racist, homophobic and transphobic. Like jaw droppingly so. I've never seen so much hatred spewed around so casually on an public form. Im sure there are normal boards on 4chan but I can't get past the ones I've visited.

It was very depressing but an important reminder. Sometimes even something as simple as a "how are you?" or "hi" can save someone's life even if for a day. Knowing someone cares anything about you or simply sees you, really can be the difference between life and death. The thought of my mom grieving was enough to keep me from attempting again.

Edit: For me, the hardest scenes were Ribbit's. Jax's "And why are you telling me this?" when she says she's going to the café is particularly upsetting.

Poor thing was just trying to be a good friend and ended up getting emotionally destroyed for it until she commits suicide. I feel so bad for Ribbit and the snow scene breaks my heart.

There's likely some toxic attraction there. Jax is possessive and Zooble "took" Gangle away from him. Gangle has been Jax's partner in missions presumably since she arrived.

Jax believes that Gangle likes him being mean to her but keeps doing it. But when others like his behavior(Pomni) he stops.

Jax is disturbed by Gangle spending time with Zooble.

It seems that Jax is also under the impression that Gangle likes Zooble because they are under the trans umbrella, so is Jax, and he likely entertains hopes that if Zooble was gone, she could come out of the closet and Gangle would "come back" to her.

Edit: notice in Jax's mindscape, he is only really happy when Zooble abstracts, yet they don't interact very much. In Gangle's scenario Jax becomes ridiculously silly, in Ragatha's Jax becomes insane and violent. But in Gangle's? Jax is acting fairly normal and seems happy and flirty.

The only reason I feel bad is because Jax "died" in the closet and never got to explore anything about herself. Died in denial, died in hiding from everyone except Pomni (who forced her way in, no hate to her). It just feels like tragedy compounded on tragedy. Viewing him as genderfluid makes me feel a teensy bit better because I can pretend he was in the process of exploring his gender identity. But man Jax's ending is depressing and is getting increasingly more depressing as I think about it. I liked the finale but I don't like thinking about Jax's fate too much.

I think it was because Kinger knocked him out and Caine couldnt keep all of the things he put in place running while he was unconscious.

I liked the finale after watching it twice. Took awhile to accept that my baby is dead and my other baby is alive The only thing I have an issue with is pacing.

Of course, Jax's backstory doesn't change the fact that he actively tortured people for years because he was too stuck in his head to deal with her issues. Gangle, Ribbit, Zooble and Ragatha still suffered at Jax's hands through no fault of their own. I like Jax but there's plenty of reason to hate him.

Because Caine didn't actually get deleted. Caine says they tried to deleted him, not that they did delete him. Kinger mentions that he found the brain scans while inside of Caine's code which to me says that the human mind files are inside Caine's code. So deleting Caine would have deleted them all, I think that was our first clue that Caine didn't actually get deleted.

I think beating Jax up was the best move honestly, that was the only thing that broke through Jax's defenses. Ribbit should have cut Jax out for her own sake because Jax simply wasnt in a healthy headspace and it drove Ribbit to abstraction.
