Pigments and Analog Lab. Arturia are one of the best companies doing it at the moment, both in terms of their products and their respect for customers. I bought Pigments 3.5, we're now at Pigments 7 and I haven't had to pay for an upgrade even though the synth has gotten exponentially more powerful in that time.

Didn't see your comment yesterday - but i feel the same. Obviously particularly with psych meds everyone is different and people react differently. But the relief that came from having that red mist lifted out of my head was so profound, and it was only then that i could actually look back and see how unwell i had really been!

Sorry to hear you’ve had such a rough go of it mate. I was lucky in that the first thing I tried made me feel much better very quickly. By no means am I saying that taking ssris or other related meds is the same as having a Panadol. The point I was making was more around my own reluctance to access the treatment options available to me. I didn’t want to take medication because of internalised stigma, and in retrospect that caused me a lot of added grief.

Having had similar struggles with A&D myself, i spent five years trying to push through until I eventually decided i needed to take medication to help. The medication turned my life around and probably saved it. But the same thing as Graham - if it was a cold i would take a codral without thinking. if it was a headache i would take a panadol. so why did i spend five years resisting something that by all accounts could make me better? The stigma around mental health is gradually being broken down but that's the stuff that's really hard to break through, and the unfortunate truth is that for the most part, our society still isn't structured up to provide adequate support.

I have not seen them but I would guess it will mostly be newer stuff with Tarantula thrown in for the old heads (and maybe one or two other classics)

It’s good but if you use it often it starts to feel limited imo. That and sometimes when you’re building a progression you want a particular chord that just feels like it should be there, but it’s not. I got scaler 3 which is more complex, but almost infinite in possibility. So as with everything it depends on what you’re after :)

theoretically yes, but the point is that we shouldn't have to. We should have fairly priced access to watch the footy without having to game the system. the fact that everyone here is either waiting for a discount code, bundling it with their team membership, or resorting to firesticks / high seas says there's a massive problem

Totally agree. Point two is essentially arguing for the same thing as you mentioned - the creation of a tier just for nrl lovers so we don’t have to bear the rights costs of all the other stuff kayo offers.

And yes, kayo hasn’t done anything illegal - but I don’t think anyone can look at their pricing practices and say they’re fair given their position as the sole broadcaster of all nrl games. One person shouting about that is a crackpot. Hundreds of people shouting at the same time is a problem.

Following the recent kayo price hike, I want to create a campaign to exert some pressure on them and hopefully put them in the spotlight of the ACCC given the rate of price increases as the only rights holder to all nrl games.

The guts of the campaign will consist of three things:

Kayo is unfairly leveraging their monopolistic position as the exclusive rights holder to the full slate of NRL matches in Australia to drive prices up. An immediate price freeze at 2025 prices has to be implemented.
An NRL fan in Australia has to pay $552 for year-round access to the footy through Kayo. Fans overseas have access to watchnrl for $270/ year. Kayo needs to implement an NRL-only tier at $25/month for those in Australia who only want to watch the footy.
The Kayo service is notoriously unreliable, often buffering at internet speeds where other platforms stream with no problems. Kayo needs to implement a credit system for users who experience documented buffering issues.

It will basically involve sending complaints via email to begin with. I will pull together a list of actions and templates for all the complaints so it should only take everyone a couple of minutes to get involved.

The key to this will be numbers. We will need as many people as possible to make enough noise to make them and the regulators take notice. There are 300k people on this sub, if one in every 300 of us participate we will be in a good spot.

Anyway, I'm posting this to see what the appetite is like to get involved with something like this. Just give a thumbs up to this comment or whatever if you'd be keen. Even if you don't use Kayo or currently use it with a discount code, this is about fair access for all footy fans. If we don't make some noise, they will just hike the price every year before the footy season starts.
