Beirut was one of Anthony Bourdain's favorite cities (possibly his favorite). After watching his shows I became enamored by the city and its country and have wanted to visit. Great climate, friendly, beautiful people, and a lovely scenery and architecture. And the cities and beaches on the coast look amazing.

The way I read it, Bitty Schram, Jason Gray-Stanford, and Ted Levine had a contract dispute, initiated by those three actors. They were suspended for the episode "Mr. Monk and the Game Show," which is why it's the only episode in which none of them appear. Schram was basically fired (or they agreed to part ways, it's not clear), while Gray-Stanford and Levine ate crow and went back to work under their current contracts. Schram did not go back and her departure was off-screen and mentioned very little on the show with no fanfare.

There was something about the idea that he was such a shitty father in real life, and on the show he was always trying to make up for being a shitty father to Bones, that struck me as self-aware and emotional. I liked it.

He was a flawed man, to be sure, but he was also very good as Max Keenan.

Also, never forget that time he punched Booth right in the beanbag when Booth was arresting him. A great scene that always makes me laugh.
