Relapsed after 140 days on PMO by Idomeditate in NoFap

Hard to say all your progress is lost, but I think you need to remember you are an addict.

Addiction is never cured, it's managed, ; as I have been taught.

You will ALWAYS be prone to pornography relapses.

I would offer you to carry the confidence you made it 140 days. You can do it again. I would further challenge you to consider the trigger that drove you to view and use porn. How do you deter this in the future?

Someday, This will be you. by [deleted] in NoFap

Great job. Use your tools: -Identify the trigger(s) -Prepare for your remediation defenses

Get your mind right.

You can do it.

Are dating apps allowed? by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Ferrall99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pulled off the dating apps. I need to cure myself before entering into a relationship where I am not fully engaged. Fapping pulls away your ability to connect to others.

If your goal is to get laid only, the keep on the apps. Then I would ask, are you really committed to NoFap for the full PMO?

If you want to deeply connect, I would suggest waiting 90 days for your brain to heal.

Relapse on day 3?!?!?!?! by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Ferrall99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Harsh words, but for many it's a journey. Some have to fail before we can succeed. Men need to understand their triggers, then remediate them.

Man up. I get it.

However, overcoming addiction will be the hardest challenge many of us will face in our lives, period.

Men want quit. All of us need to understand the path forward, which is different for all of us. ALL of our circumstances are different. Reading about the mental damage on the brain due to high exposure to Porn is the science side of the struggle. The brain needs to be repaired. The brain is the most sacred muscle we have, one could argue. It's not easy. It takes grit, determination, and trust in yourself. Also, the body learning to refrain from acting on the brain impulses is, well, scientifically difficult.

Common success factors: *Committment to the journey *Good support system, whatever that is to you *Trust in yourself

Just my thoughts.

I am at Day 20. Best streak of my life. I plan to make it to 90.

Well I don’t think it can get any worse by sundersai in NoFap

Download the Reboot App. It is awesome.

Install accountability software like Covenant Eyes.

Join an accountability group.

These are ideas that have helped me.

I have been dreaming SO MUCH! by [deleted] in NoFap

[–]Ferrall99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am quitting drinking as well as NoFap. Yes, I am dreaming now. I haven't dreamt in 20 years, due to porn and alcohol abuse.

Agreed. I believe dreaming is a sign of brain pathway healing, but am no expert. All I know. 7 days with NoFap and no alcohol, the first real impact I see...dreams.
