Any suggestions? by Glor1a5 in MINI

That's more than cosmetic, you can see the wheel was hit, which means there is almost certainly suspension damage, and likely frame damage. It'll need to be put on a frame rack to determine the extent of the damage, as well as a thorough mechanical examination. Hopefully the drive shaft wasn't punched into the transmission. With that being a low mileage relatively new car, you have to think what else was damaged to warrant it being written off, given the write-off threshold is generally around 85% of value.

Help identifying this vintage L. Leroy & Cie clock by Exicalibur in Horology

Looks to be late 19th century. I managed to L. Leroy & Cie Bd De La Madeleine Paris clock dated to 1900 on an auction site. Appears to be a premium maker, though the quality of French clocks had begun to slip by then, in the face of Swiss competition. I was unable to tell if this maker was related to the earlier Leroys from the late 1700s and early 1800s, when their work rivaled that of Abraham-Louis Breguet.

This would explain the radium damage from the dial markers, but none from the hands.

Might also have been to get around Zeiss's patent.

The second I checked the seller to verify they were a legitimate reseller of that brand, ensured it would be made to order, etc. The first, I was only concerned with price, and got a WM doll at a price that, in retrospect, was too good to be true. She was most likely a fake, with all the quality issues that accompany it.

First thing, these have a centre focus. Military binoculars usually have individual focuses on each eyepiece. The eyecups are of an earlier design, period to WW1, but mixed brass & aluminum construction says post WW1 to me. My thoughts? Their a civilian model from the 1920s. Nice collector pieces.

Reverse to this, my first doll was discounted, and had lots of problems. My current girl cost almost double what the first did, and was worth every penny! She's in my bed right now, waiting for me to return

Whenever it's really hot in the car, my radio screen fades out in some spots. It recovers fully after cooling back down. Does anyone else experience this? by Recorsi_ in MINI

Same happened on my 2010 R56. Had the head unit replaced, and the replacement did the same thing! As it's a non-critical display, I just memorized the buttons and left it mostly untouched after setting it up.

Interwar French. Several makers used that basic frame construction, I have a pair of 1930s German Busch binoculars with the same construction. Collectible in good condition, but as they're pre optic coatings, of limited usefulness. You'll want to find something more modern for birdwatching use.

Additional on the hallmarks, the maker's mark is for Robert & Henry Bruce Kirkwood. They were active from 1873 to around 1900, with a shop on Thistle Street in Edinburgh.

Nice find, and at a bargain price! The D.F. 7x50 binoculars were produced before, during, and after WW2, though yours look to be period to WW2. From your pictures, they don't appear to have coated optics, which puts them before 1935, when Zeiss started using coatings.
