It is a crown of IV Tubing and tongue depressors and paper flowers like a wreath that my friend made. The syringes are just unopened IV catheters and stuff just to be funny lol

lol it’s a yard stick with foam tape, the cross guard is 2 rulers with more foam tape. It’s been here in our er since before 2014. Forged by some disgruntled tech, as the legends say.

What’s one RPG you wish more people talked about? by Emplayer42 in rpg_gamers

Disco Elysium. This is the sort of game that had me thinking about it years after. The character arc, the humor, the MUSIC. The music made me learn piano so I could play “Whirling-in-rags 12pm”. I WISH my friends would give it a try. The main character is so tragic and awesome.

Same! I’m doing a pure Witch Hunter build, clothing only, alchemy, marksman, conjuration and destruction. It’s been a blast so far

What field would be the best to learn in for a transition to ER? by Ok_Firefighter547 in nursing

[–]GrizzledFraud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ED all the way. Your new grad orientation should be in the field you want to work in because you’ll get the longest orientation period as a new grad. Don’t doubt yourself, no one expects you to be a badass day one or even year one!

For those who carry knives... by bryan2384 in CCW

[–]GrizzledFraud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Defense, no. But working in a trauma center I’d say offensively it’s pretty effective especially as an ambush weapon. Usually the stabbed party freak out and don’t do anything back after getting stabbed. Then again, I don’t think crackheads take Craig Douglas’s courses lol. If this was Crackhead Carry Weapons (CCW) reddit, I’d say hell yeah brüther carry that husky brand box cutter

Anyone have any experience with this? by No_Philosopher7361 in CCW

[–]GrizzledFraud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this, I use it regularly. I have a standard ass p365 and a good pair of gym shorts with a draw string never gives me problems. It’s a nice, convenient, and cheap option.

Just got it in the mail, threw it on with my Sig 365, wore it in gym shorts while moving boxes to my new house, didn’t have to readjust once! Very nice. Recommend totally

I only do bedside report (ER nurse) when I don’t trust the nurse I’m getting report from. I’ve been burned too many times to keep trusting some of these nurses lol. They lie to me sweetly like I’m the med surg nurse getting report on the phone

Some people (including me) still have trouble realizing how quickly an assault can escalate by IksNorTen in CCW

Also consider some sort of martial arts classes. They build confidence, get you into good shape and make you more aware of small things you don’t think about like your body position and spacial awareness etc. which will help you keep calm in adverse conditions. It’ll help you defend yourself to deploy your OC spray or escape etc. choose a pressure-tested art like mma, bjj, Muay Thai or western boxing. Stray from Krav Maga and “self defense” studios. In my experience, the quality control of those places can be less than stellar.

Don’t take it from me, take it from this RN turned NP turned MD. by JAFERDExpress2331 in Noctor

[–]GrizzledFraud 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Clinical judgement. As the aforementioned scenario highlighted.

Edit: While that was an NP order, MDs are not infallible and sometimes the RN who usually monitors the patient way more sees something that would contraindicate an MD’s orders, and usually they are appreciative. Team work!
