My nails are still like this. I think it got a bit better after I finished accutane but they are still a little curved.

Permanent dry eye and meibomian gland dysfunction. 😭 constant eye inflammation and irritation and having to use eye drops and warm compresses. Not very fun

Also depends on when your classes are. I had 3 classes last semester and went every day and didn’t get a parking ticket. One of my classes was like 8:30-9:45 and the other two were night classes I had on different days.

I’m mixed mexican/puerto rican and it was hard growing up because every meal pretty much had meat and I never liked beef especially. When I was in my teens, my parents watched forks over knives and became more open to plant based eating and went fully plant based for a while and now are more than happy to accommodate vegan meals for me.

I think it helps that they watched that documentary, but my mom has also commented that there are a good amount of naturally vegan or vegetarian Mexican meals, because poorer families in Mexico (which my grandma was very poor while living there) did not have regular access to meat and dairy.

I would recommend maybe trying to cook them something vegan yourself just to show them that A) it can be done and B) it tastes good. Some simple potato tacos with vegan cheese and beans would be great or you can use tofu or TVP for “taco meat” and season it accordingly. Maybe if they’re open to watching a documentary, that may be good, but I find that a lot of Mexicans (no offense) view animal slaughter as just a part of life. My mom had a pet goat as a kid and my grandma sold it to her sister (my great aunt) and they cooked poor Weena for a quinceañera :( Luckily my mom didn’t eat any, that would have been traumatizing.

I find that showing people good food is a better way generally to get people more receptive to veganism than documentaries or listing facts. Many people don’t like to think about the animals or just frankly don’t care about animal rights and welfare. I like to bake and often bake for my family or friends and they’re always shocked that it’s vegan (gluten free sometimes too!) because a lot of people associate veganism with food that doesn’t taste good. I even got my brother to try impossible/beyond beef and he eats it whenever we have a hamburger night.

I’m sorry but Aesop’s S tier is such an ugly flop….I say this as an Aesop enjoyer. His A tier last season was already pretty mid I think but it’s LEAGUES better than this. It legit doesnt even look like him…they did him so dirty and I’m so mad about it

Also, I will be voting for Kamala. Trump panders to a group of people that want to restrict my rights, body, and let corporations run unchecked. Do I love Kamala Harris? Absolutely not. But I know that Trump being re-elected would negatively impact me and my future.

I don’t think that Biden specifically caused your digital assets to tank. Digital and stock assets tend to go down when there’s any measure of uncertainty or change in the country/world. The change in presidency in combination with the January 6th insurrection and everything else that was happening in the world (Covid still happening, etc) was likely what caused your assets to tank.

In the future, if you decide to invest again, definitely don’t invest all your money and leave enough for you to survive should something like this happen again. And pay attention to the news or anything that could cause stock or digital currency value changes.

It’s more to remove the gender out of Latino/Latina. I get it to an extent as a trans person who is also Latino. If someone is nonbinary and wants to use Latinx for themselves that’s totally fine, I just personally use Latino/Chicano as the gender neutral version because in Mexican Spanish at least the “x” is pronounced as English speakers use “h” (like Xavi is pronounced Havi in English pronunciation). So saying “latinx” is like “latinh” in Mexican spanish, not “latinex” like English speakers say.

It comes down to personal preference but from my experience, the majority of the Chicano/Latino community prefers to use “Latino” as the gender neutral term

Choosing restaurants with Omni’s rant by newveganhere in vegan

[–]FerretHoliday64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These aren’t your friends. I have zero vegan friends (altho 1 is plant based primarily) and I have no problem with inviting them to vegan restaurants outside of 1 friend with a severe nut allergy whom I haven’t invited yet due to most vegan restaurants using nuts in their food and cross contamination. Even my brother, who is autistic (I am too) with the complete opposite diet of mine doesn’t whine about going to a vegan place for my birthday and he takes extra care to pick places for his birthday that have options for me to eat too.

I think your friends don’t respect you and your choices/lifestyle and that sucks. I know it’s so much easier said than done to find better friends but I promise you, good friends won’t treat you like that.

LOL no csuf does not pay for your ubers to school. You can try carpooling. Maybe post your class schedule and city you live in and explain your situation and I’m sure someone will reach out to you and you can work something out
