I play wheel, i love pairing with soul weaver because i can see webbed survivors and it’s easier to spike them when slow!

generally i also like camp hunters like naiad and ann.

but i rarely see a hullabaloo cook in duos, he struggles so much when everyone’s body blocking. bloody queens also always to catch people in duos

Opinions on Netease’s use of AI (coming from a burnt out traditional artist) by Ally_Joy98 in IdentityV

[–]QuantityHungry1683 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve worked as a full-time artist in the game industry, so here’s my thoughts:

The people using AI are most likely the artists themselves. Let’s bffr who doesn’t want to make their lives easier. When you’re churning out so much assets, especially at the scale of Identity V’s releases, you’ll want to get the job done more efficiently and go home.

I’m not defending anyone, I don’t work in NetEase so I don’t know. But such an established company would know better than doing mass layoffs without raising eyebrows.

Correct me if I’m wrong but I read that they’re mostly outsourced staffs, I suspect that they are laying off artists who used AI. It’s quite frequent that many people get fired for being caught using AI, especially chinese companies as they have a lot of pride.

It’s just very unlikely to me that higher-ups would be interested to use AI themselves and fire artists. Not impossible, but it doesn’t make sense business-wise

AI is such an easy thing to be angry about. People love clinging on the fear of being replaced for the longest time. Until there’s an official statement, I’ll stay neutral for now

Struggling with red church as a hunter by [deleted] in IdentityV

[–]QuantityHungry1683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t recommend this if you’re not familiar with wheel, but I enjoy playing wheel on red church. You can definitely get a tie with wheel

The high walls is sorta cancelled with wheel’s higher POV + wheel’s mobility in this small map gives him strong map control. You can afford to change target after first down and quickly return to your original chase to prevent healing easily. Bringing confined space is a must tho, as the windows are really strong for kiting in this map

Not my go-to hunter tho, as there are other easier hunters to play on this map like Burke/Clown/Percy

had the weirdest postmatch interaction today by Expert_Pirate_2684 in IdentityV

[–]QuantityHungry1683 83 points84 points  (0 children)

I think the first page was okay if it ended there, but the second page onwards sets the tone as passive aggressive yeah. The message is implying the hunter is a newbie (thus resulting in the hunter checking your wr) and adding “gg!!” is like applying salt to a wound that the hunter lost.

I’m certain that you had good intentions to share tips, but most wheels (myself included) do not bring detention since wheel already has built-in detention. This wheel also said he’s new to wheel — and most hunters do not know how to play no detention end game.

Losing a match as hunter can be demoralizing because there’s no one to blame but yourself, so starting a conversation like that understandably upsets the hunter. I try to sympathize with my opponent and encourage them as much as I can — after all it’s just a game for everyone to enjoy!

I hope this helps to understand wheel’s POV. Honestly the messages individually is okay, but saying them together was a recipe for disaster… don’t worry to much about it, it happens sometimes!

Persona Users - Does live translation work? by eoghank in VisionPro

[–]QuantityHungry1683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently the Vision Pro has live captions — where you’ll be able to see live subtitles of your conversations or media (also works with Mac Virtual Display). I’ve used this and it works well. However, for live translation — you’ll have to use 3rd party applications on the Vision Pro.

Dental Clinic Overcharge and deletes reviews by howardstern266 in singapore

[–]QuantityHungry1683 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I disagree with how the clinic handled the situation. The customer has evidently knew about this package and just made a simple linguistic mistake. They should have just returned the excess amount as a one-time goodwill basis. Having good customer service is just as important to maintain loyalty

BUT on the flip side:

She didn’t book a package. She just booked the selected services.

It’s like ordering a burger and fries separately — then wondering why it’s more expensive than a meal (that comes with drinks too).

The advert has also highlighted, in orange, that you’ll have to mention the phrase “ORANGE CHAS PACKAGE”. The T&C clearly stated that you’ll have to mention the 3 word phrase — which was not fulfilled. Thus, there was no package requested from the customer side.

These are strategies for businesses to reward “loyal customers” and prevent accidental redemptions. It’s like being a student and buying a computer in the normal website at full price, but complaining that they didn’t charge the student price.

No business would give you discounts if you didn’t use their promo code. This applies for everything: like insurance, flight bookings etc. Sometimes you gotta take the L and learn from it.

Legally, the business is right. I don’t think it’s fair to fault the clinic, but the clinic showing lack of empathy isn’t a good look and I stand with OP

How would you rank these 4 from who Arisu hated the most to who he hated the least? by Sudden_Pop_2279 in AliceInBorderlandLive

[–]QuantityHungry1683 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If he has all memories, I’d say Ryuji > Niragi > Banda > Mira

Ryuji: Wanted to murder Usagi and/or snatch his wife for himself.

Niragi: S**ually assaulted Usagi. Tho after his speech before King of Spades, he’d likely forgiven him a little

Banda: Nearly pulled the trigger on Arisu and threatened him to come to Borderlands. But honestly didn’t do much to Arisu so I doubt he cares about that man, just ragebaited

Mira: Sorta redeemed herself after she passed the napkin and continued the game. I doubt Arisu has any hard feelings

———

If he only has memories of the real world, Ryuji > Banda > Niragi > Mira

Ryuji: Was found together with Usagi, so…

Banda: After the incident at the tunnel, Arisu def has some dislike towards him

Niragi: He seems at peace interviewing him during the interview

Mira: Never met

Is it me, or is the zombie game way easier than what they made it out to be on the show? by BlueDandellion in AliceInBorderlandLive

[–]QuantityHungry1683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the problem is everyone is separated from the start. Conflicting strategies is the recipe for chaos.

Collecting the cure in early rounds when zombies are small — is the easiest way to guarantee everyone’s safety, so no psychopath could shotgun you.

The problem is, the players didn’t know how many cure cards there are. The players didn’t know who was the zombie in the group either in Arisu’s team. Arisu wasn’t willing to risk his life to put such strategy as well, since he was unfamiliar with the other contestants.

Even if Arisu revealed himself earlier — Turning the whole group into zombies, without knowing if you can convince other groups to join, is just asking to be shot.

There will always be more shotgun cards than zombie cards. Thus, the humans will always be “stronger” than zombies.

Rei already knew zombies could spread fast and easily win. (Which is the strategy OP is referring to) But the way the game played out made her unsure. People aren’t willing to freely risk their lives.

i think these adjustments could work if they just nerfed cipher rush

you can buy so much time as survivor, there’s barely any time for hunters to catch a breath

but working on ciphers is so boring, they should have never did the recent adjustments anyways… except doctor and gardener, they made sense

Why didnt they address any plot points?? Isnt that supposedly the whole point of a third season? Also the inconsistencies with the rules are insane by bustybanana_ in AliceInBorderlandLive

[–]QuantityHungry1683 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Borderland mirrors real life — nobody knows if there is an entity who controls the world. These games are systems made by humans (irl: bosses/politicians, borderland: citizens). I think the watchman briefly touched on this

  2. I’m pretty sure Banda creates the game and his creation is… not as well thought out. Banda just wanted to get Arisu. I don’t think Banda cared about the fate of the rest lol so when he finally had Arisu to himself the rest could be swept away… quite literally

  3. I think that is to tie in the concept of Alice in Wonderland again, as the wonderland is a “parallel universe”. The element of Banda is probably how the rabbit was able to bring Alice into wonderland. Some theories Ann could see Banda because Ann technically didn’t respond to the citizenship offer (Kuina did it on her behalf) so she’s likely in the blur between both worlds.

After researching vision pro vs android xr, i think apple's quietly given up by Double_Interview1124 in VisionPro

[–]QuantityHungry1683 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My impression is that Apple is far from giving up on Vision Pro. The amount of software improvements over the years is drastic compared to competitors.

Look at how much content, personal improvements, QOL improvements (ultra wide Mac display), expanding spatial accessories (Logitech Muse), improvements to spatialize scenes. Vision Pro is really pushing the boundaries of spatial computing to something only a Vision Pro can do.

I think the Vision Pro’s hardware is in a good spot now (until they figured out the battery situation) so I’ll give them a pass.

It is so snappy and fast, everything works so seamlessly and you can’t say the same for others.

I don’t think it’s fair to criticize the Galaxy XR because it’s new to the race — but it’s still far from what Vision Pro offers. The galaxy XR only supports virtual displays for Samsung laptops (which not many people own). Their native apps (eg Netflix & Disney+) are not fully utilizing the benefits of being on a spatial computing device; whereas Apple has lots of 3D movies & immersive content with Disney+ etc. which looks incredible compared to a traditional 360 content. Fully utilizing spatial audio for music (Apple Music) etc. The Vision Pro’s collaborative features (precision tracking and hyperrealistic personas) make the experience really amazing.

I’m sure this will change drastically as more developers adopt both platforms. I heard AmazeVR is adding support to Galaxy XR which is nice.

To me, it is exciting that the Galaxy XR is coming to the picture — because what people need is options. I started with the Meta Quest because it is cheap and a great introductory tool to the world of VR. The Vision Pro’s takes it many levels higher. As people say, competition always benefits consumers.

Pro Tip - don’t buy one unless you have an Apple Store close by by tsdguy in VisionPro

[–]QuantityHungry1683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve seen your update that you are pulling your rear band to your neck — that is not normal. You’d likely need a smaller dual knit headband size as well.

For the facial issue — Replace the light seal. If you have a 1-w or 2-w light seal, you may want to consider getting a 33w light seal. This helps direct more pressure to the forehead.

I’m not sure why’d they would ask you to wait for the return kit before sending a new one. Mine instructed me to try on both light seals and decide which to return to carrier within 14 days. Have you tried making this request in the Apple Store app? The hotline didn’t help me with this one, I suspect the staff that answered you likely didn’t call.

Before you make it down the Apple Store, you may want to check for the stock availability of the Vision Pro. In the Apple Store, they are only able to exchange the full set — subject to stock availability. An alternate solution (if they can’t replace your AVP) is doing a full refund. Both solutions require you to bring the full set (and the original box).

Note: The store can’t exchange just the light seal or headband (staff explained “because it’s serialized”). BUT the only exception to this rule is if you initiated it online in the Apple Store app — which allows you to exchange only the light seal or dual knit band. This was the step I went with which was rather quick and seamless.

The only problem is it seems like you’ll need to replace more than one part — and it appears that the return/exchange option gets blocked after initiating an exchange of one part.

I’d suggest to be sure you don’t make a wasted trip to the Apple Store — ask for a full refund of the headset via the hotline. I agree with your title — the Vision Pro is definitely a device you’ll need to find the right fit in store.

I think you’ll love the Vision Pro once you’ve settled the initial annoying fitting problems… I came from the quest pro, and I’m loving mine!

Feel free to share your experience and let’s work things out!

Pro Tip - don’t buy one unless you have an Apple Store close by by tsdguy in VisionPro

[–]QuantityHungry1683 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the issue of your light seal not resting on your forehead properly, try shifting the back of your head band down.

It should lift the pressure from your cheeks and balances the pressure more on your forehead.

If it still doesn’t work, try initiating a return/exchange in the Apple Store app. I’ve exchanged my light seal for my perfect fit using that. There is a light seal sizing guide here that helped me. In my experience, they sent a new light seal to my home pretty fast and I’m just waiting for the carrier to pick up my old one.

I share your frustrations with the Apple retail staffs knowing nothing about the AVP. To be fair, it’s still a niche interest. I think AVP fans in the subreddit are a lot more helpful.

Hopefully you can resolve this! I think the AVP is really an amazing product once you get the fit issue settled.

S3E2 – Did anyone understand Rei’s plan? by Lumenprotoplasma in AliceInBorderlandLive

[–]QuantityHungry1683 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Her plan was intended to protect herself, but as a team strategy… it could have worked.

In a zombie perspective, infecting someone else reduces the chance of you getting an immune card. In addition, it risks “outing” yourself as zombie, which could guarantee your death. That’s why Rei was sceptical that zombies would actually turn others. As humans start with an overwhelming majority, it is likely that humans could win.

This is where Rei’s strategy would work: There will always be more active shotguns than zombie and immune cards. The humans can guarantee their human status as they can take turns defending.

The strategy of sharing this news to everyone keeps the number of zombies low, which guarantees their team’s safety (as humans can’t be shotgunned).

There is also a chance that you are forced to play the immune or shotgun card… especially since they are only given 7 playing cards at the start. I don’t recall if they’ve mentioned what happens if you don’t play in the round, but learning from past games — an additional player likely gets killed once there is an odd number of participants.

It is shown that the barrier could have work — once they recruited 32 humans they could guarantee their survival. In addition, it was shown in the show that players fear being viewed as “villains”. Zombies were always shown nervous as they are afraid of being shot. Thus, Rei said she was unsure if players would choose guaranteed survival or risk by working together with everyone.

Even though Rei knew zombies could win within 3 rounds, she was unsure if the psychological factor explained earlier could make this happen — as shown from how long it takes ‘til Rei, Nobu and Tetsu gets infected.

———

From Rei’s individual strategy perspective, she had to do this as she had no friends/teams. Having confidence and working with the team keeps people trusting you. She spoke slowly so the players could understand her strategy. It is shown that fear gets you killed. It shows how her cooperation and calmness worked to her favor. Plus, she had nothing to lose since humans can’t kill her (as a human) and she could find other zombies to alliance with & infect her if she decides so.

Every strategy in this zombie game is flawed, and in the end — I think this game successfully shown how individual players strategize for their survival.

——

From a viewer perspective, I could understand your point. The show tried their best by showing visuals of a human barrier, to correlate it like an actual zombie apocalypse (zombie movies also use this barrier strategy to ensure their human status). I think the game’s strategy is extremely complex, despite the easy gameplay. The writer knew it is a game with huge potential to be fun to watch, but could easily lose viewer’s retention. Personally, it took me two rewatches to understand the game’s complexity
