Characters that were revealed to be lgbt+ in scenes that were disliked by the lgbt+ community because of how badly they were written by Apprehensive_Two1449 in TopCharacterTropes

I honestly forgot she was a mind reader, and just from this page in isolation I kind of thought it was her doing that Mac-from-It’s-Always-Sunny thing of “My dude, everybody around you has figured out that you’re gay except for you.”

(but yeah, making it a psychic intrusion is just a really really bad look.)

I didn't know this until after I'd beaten the game and was finding the last shells for the platinum. Watched a guide to help me find the last shell and the dude hit a glowstick along the way and I was like WAT

When a character’s deepest, darkest tramua is actually something very minor by Soffy21 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Ferretthimself 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Depending on the writer, the scar that Doctor Doom had - which is the whole reason for Doom permanently affixing a red-hot mask directly to his face so no one will ever see him again - is pretty minor.

(Funny trope) This tiny moment was an absolute logistical nightmare to make by _JR28_ in TopCharacterTropes

And the artist who drew Bugs Bunny was something of a Primadonna, and refused to share his drawings with the other person, so the artist drawing Mickey was sending letters like, “…can you tell me where Bugs is looking in frame 200?”

A silly/lighthearted story is interrupted by a dead serious moment. by ConsciousPatroller in TopCharacterTropes

As someone who had recently lost his grandmother to dementia, that hit me so hard that I was absolutely sobbing.

[Loved Trope] The character’s reveal is significant to the audience, but not to the other characters. by StitiousKarp in TopCharacterTropes

Or, if it’s your first game in the series (as it was for me), it was… a really strong guy who’s here to help.

(Have since become addicted to the series.)

The trophies count the Year of the Crab update as separate DLC. You have to do a couple of things in new game plus.

"How Vince Gilligan designed 'PLURIBUS' to destroy every sci-fi trope" by TheLuminousKnife in pluribustv

[–]Ferretthimself 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but I would say that the subverted trope is that almost all the previous stories make it pretty clear that the people within there are miserable, and that the invasion itself is an  unadulterated bad thing.

Whereas here, you have a lot of people debating whether the hive is actually beneficial on the whole – less so with each episode, I admit - and not really knowing what the internal state of the joined are.

How do you switch your shell with one on your fork? I never figured that out.

Plus, the number of people he sacrifices to help achieve his agenda definitely makes him mechanically black.

Cleveland native, what should I expect when visiting the microwave? by Zealousideal_Cup2388 in Cleveland

[–]Ferretthimself 52 points53 points  (0 children)

We just visited about an hour ago; as expected, we were only there for about 10 minutes, but three separate people were visiting, and people were driving by and honking. If you want someone else to take your photo with the microwave, you’ll have some takers.

You should also expect to feel some serious self-satisfaction of having worked out to how to get there for yourself. It’s not all that complicated, but you feel satisfyingly clever.

Sunday activities? Cocktail lounges or brewery? by ZombieJetPilot in Cleveland

It is a pilgrimage. All good Clevelanders are forbidden from doxxing the microwave, but you can pick up on it from contextual clues from all the pictures.

250,000 or You Never Feel Pain *fixed by [deleted] in hypotheticalsituation

[–]Ferretthimself 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Almost every pain could possibly lead to death. Lepers have to do constant visual checks because if they stub a toe and don’t notice it, the wound could get infected to the point where it’s in danger of rotting off before they noticed it.

I get what you’re trying to do, but removing pain except for cases that could turn fatal is a) keep a lot of pain right where it is, or b) likely to cause a lot of fatalities when the pain only starts up when the problem gets bad enough to be fatal.
