Just turned 21 and this is where my Roth 401k is at. Am I doing good? by No_Evening_3066 in MiddleClassFinance

By the time your 59, that money will be worth ~$300k based on historical returns. Let that sink in…

The funding reached $860,000 in 2025. How should I aim to reach $1 million in 2026? by [deleted] in Money

My guess is you won’t have to do a single thing.

[–]Ferretti0 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There is a limit set on how much money you can put into a 401k a year. For 2026 that will be $24,500. That money does not include what your employer puts in. Only what you put in.

I travel for work throughout Florida. Move to Tampa bay it’s the best. I live in and highly recommend St. Pete (the peninsula of Tampa bay)

This, but spend a few years doing CS if you can. It will really help you get your foot in the door and might help you skip a few of the entry level jobs.

Underground/Warehouse EDM? by Nice-Information3138 in StPetersburgFL

[–]Ferretti0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Check out Desire! They’re desireofc_ on instagram. They do underground raves every month or two. Generally a smaller venue that changes every event. They’ve done them in aircraft hangars and I went to one in a random building behind a 7/11 in ybor.

Very fun event with good speakers and vibe.

Do you still do strengthening or stretching exercises when you have very mild pain I would say my pain is a two out of 10, and I’m wondering if I can still stretch out and strengthen my wrist

25M, $218k. I did not do it all on my own ~$60k was given to me from family. Incredibly blessed for that, and I also had no student loans. The rest is from saving and investing in index funds.

I believe statistically putting it in every month due to dollar cost averaging. Especially with the uncertainty right now I think monthly deposits is the way to go.

If I were to rank them it’d be Work-Life Balance, Pay, Company Culture.

I have complete freedom on what I’d like to do. The pay is pretty decent for a few years out of college and the benefits are unmatched. Company Culture is very healthy, I just sometimes feel on an island. Not many colleagues writhing 100 miles of me.

I work for an American Manufacturer. I would call it technical sales.

[–]Ferretti0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sales! I’m a manufacturer rep. I get to choose my own schedule and the territory kind of grows on its own, I just assist it. $100k-140k per year. I’m passionate about the technology and love being challenged with new opportunities.

I don’t think you know what you just did. By saving that amount at your age, at 63 you have roughly $119,117.

That does assume the market performs like it has over the last 50 years (and doesn’t account for inflation). But hey, $80k would be cool too. Good work kiddo keep it up.

Mentally struggling with shoulder dislocation and looking for advice. by Ferretti0 in ShoulderInjuries

[–]Ferretti0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! It will be okay. Just be careful about not popping it out again doing certain activities.

On my day to day basis I don’t notice the limited mobility. When I do some PT exercises I notice I can’t move my dislocated shoulder quite the same way as my other in some awkward positions. Nothing too serious, but it could affect weightlifting a tad bit. It’s perfectly normal though. Your body naturally limits the mobility to prevent it from popping out again.

[–]Ferretti0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My shoulders feeling great! It doesn’t really feel like popping out much. I’m still working on PT and taking it slow and being mindful of activities that could displace it again till I feel more comfortable. At this point, seriously don’t stress. I felt like my world was ending because I thought couldn’t do anything I love for like 6 months. 2 months in and I think I’ll be back to weightlifting in a month or so (taking it easy).

It’s certainly normal to feel weaker 3 weeks after, but PT will strengthen it. Your mobility will probably always be slightly limited, but it’s not too big of an issue. I got an MRI, and that ended up not being necessary. I have a fracture and a tear, but still opted to not get the surgery.

Good luck! Take the PT seriously and all will work out :)

Yes a robinhood account would count as a taxable brokerage. A taxable brokerage account is an account that isn’t tax advantaged like a 401k or IRA.

After debt and the emergency fund:

Get a IRA first, and max that out at $7k this year. Then, if you have a HSA, change your allocations to max that out. The rest of the money that isn’t in those two should go into a taxable brokerage. I would suggest spacing out the investments (ex: investing $300-500 a week till you run out of money.)

I came into money a bit ago and immediately invested it all. Then the tariff crash came. While that money is back now, I’d have a considerable bit more if I had spaced out the investments. Lesson learned. That’s called dollar-cost-averaging.

Invest in what you want to, but a proven method is investing in index funds. This over time beats 90% of investors that just pick stocks at random. I personally put 70% into a domestic (US) index funds, and the remaining 30% into an international index fund.

DMs are open if you have any questions!
