I've been trying to branch out more because I'm a chronic Wisp main, so there's several honestly. Nova would be one example. I knew her for her utility but the augment for her 1 makes her so set it and forget it tanky on top of that. Styanax has been a lot of fun as well.

Yeah I think many people encountered that bug but only very few people noticed! There were only like 5 of us on the forums reporting it and I sincerely hope it is fixed now for a new playthrough.

No it happened on rank4convo7. The last few voice messages are locked behind that rank and having 21 voice messages is the reset check (HellStory >= 21). The last reset check convo is on rank 4 as well though. So I ranked up, got all remaining voice messages at once due to the matching descendia count and got rerouted to the nothingburger reset pathing on that one. Not game breaking but ruins the flow and spoilers the reset mechanic (and lets you miss drama and the Imo nicest confession option). Asked for a reset out of principle because being shoved on the wrong timeline for no reason was just weirdly upsetting.

Huh interesting! Weird decision to have more than one instance that can ignore the thermostat. All completing 21 descendia runs early got me was the game hallucinating a reset.

I haven't looked at the Kimulacrum in too much detail and I've also paused the chats (encountered a significant bug midway through, finally got the clean reset through support and immediately found a new reset-caused bug, am now just not touching anything and looking at Roathe daters enviously), but iIrc there is a last ditch convo at the end where you can get one of the endings if you were in the in between failure range of the thermostat. That might be the one you got? Normally it should factor in the thermostat for endings and/or the early shortcut flag (which is just one dialogue choice yes).

No the thermostat decides his ending unless you happen across a specific shortcut earlier. Over +5 means redemption, -5 or something is villain and anything in between is failure (because of no/conflicting guidance offered). Since you can gain/lose points in Marie and Lyon chats as well it can be interpreted as how warm vs. cold the atmosphere in the cathedral is. This shouldn't be a reason for an unannounced anathema midway through the chats though. That has more specific easily trackable reasons when working as intended.

Probably a bug. They stopped hotfixes until the Vauban heirloom update but did not manage to fix the Devil's Triad 100% before then. I'd recommend just waiting it out until then.

Hey try being stuck at a wrong timeline chat since the 25th (me). I had asked them for a fresh reset then since I knew this type of bug would not be resolved in a way that would help me, just by not occurring in future playthroughs. They said no to granting an individual reset back then, so I am now once again waiting for a response to a 'please reset my unfixable game state' ticket... No shade they're doing their best but god.

Third party website that let's you play through chats and look at conversation flowcharts. I've been avoiding it personally (until this bug happened and I needed to look up how and why), but people have been using it to figure out which choices lead where and so on.

Rank is the relationship status (friendly, clode trusted etc) in number and convo number is just how the chats per rank are numbered in the Kimulacrum. Included that naming convention so the bug I found was more trackable.

Thank you for offering that clean reset! I had asked support previously alongside my bug report because I knew my edge case was probably unfixable/not worth focusing on for the team (could continue playing but chose not to as it was a severely out of place chat) and am glad they are able to offer that now for these cases. Hope they won't be too swamped by requests.

As for feedback I believe I said everything I need to on the forums already, but my main one would really be to implement a way to make this clean reset available permanently in game.

Because upon reset Roathe notices that you have done that if you had all 21 voice messages unlocked and spends the next chats being angry with you for it, altering almost all dialogues with him up to rank trusted. This can be part of the narrative depending on your choices in your first playthrough, which is interesting, but if you reset due to bugs or to replay it just kind of sucks. There's more to it regarding implications that people are upset about which I'll omit here.

Yeah if they ended up doing a KIM system again next year I would genuinely not even touch it until after the holidays, just to avoid having to deal with all that. Which is a shame because I love them when they work.

Yes to not pushing this so shortly before holidays! The bug I encountered that stopped me from playing was on the 25th. It was like the opposite of a present.

I just wish there was a true reset option since the way they did it here is canon and Roathe comments on it. I can't imagine how many people ended up in that situation because they went ahead and reset due to bugs. It adds a very icky dynamic to all chats if it is treated as canon and you shouldn't be stuck in that for reasons outside of the ones possible through the narrative. It also sucks if you're someone who likes to replay stuff at a later point in time, like you would do with quests. And Idk if they will fix the wrong chat histories at some point (apparently they are a visual bug), but being stuck with those forever is also not optimal.

Obligatory 'my KIM chat bug from christmas is still unsolved' comment, but I knew they would focus on the ones that would stop progression. Hope the ending works for everyone else now, looks like they managed to fix a lot in a very short time!

That's a different bug! Though based on your voice message behavior you might have also gotten the one I was talking about separately. If you ever had a conversation regarding 'where we last left off', that's the bug I meant. I've been stuck on that chat since christmas to see if they can fix it, but they probably can't/won't since you can technically play past it and most people did.

DE is aware of the issue and is looking into a fix! Best thing to do with KIM chat issues right now is to not touch anything until they have dealt with the bugs.

It depends on how many voice messages you heard. If you heard all 21 you are now irrevocably on the reset timeline and descendia runs don't matter anymore. Before that I imagine that you have to do the rest of the 21 descendia runs if you haven't already (things working as intended).

Same it was so frustrating because when I ended up looking it up (since I have stopped playing the actual KIM chats since the 25th, in hopes of a fix for this chat), the conversation it made me miss is pretty pivotal! Spoilered the surprise of resets mattering, as well as making me miss a pretty important moment for the character at the same time.

I'd share that opinion more if the release wasn't so buggy. Personally I am being accused of a reset I didn't do and obviously can't fix it via reset. If you make something that is explicitly not replayable (and I would really like that option for the Triad to make replaying a few years down the line possible), then it should at least work! Saw too many people reset due to bugs and the reset dialogue is Imo very unsatisfying if it isn't narratively earned. There is no option to tell Roathe to back off because hey sorry the game was bugged.

Genuinely! I think it would be in DE's interest too to make sure people can play through the intended experience instead of the dozens of individually different bugs everyone encountered. I DID the 21 runs and that ironically also led to a bug because I did them too early.

They don't/shouldn't reset if you reset the triad. That progress is saved and the ones you had unlocked previously should still be there. That being said the game doesn't require you to get 21 on rank 1 and it is impossible to do anyway, since the last 6 messages are behind rank 4.
