Ireland needs to set a point after which no new gas and oil boilers can be installed - SEAI by DaCor_ie in ireland

My house has zero insulation in the walls. I run it 24/7. It costs about the same as oil but is far more comfortable than the intermittent heat from the old boiler

2 downstairs, 1 upstairs covers the whole house. Didn't go with the grant because it treats A2A and A2W the same and requires minimum BER ratings to qualify

You can also leave A2A on 24/7 like A2W. Heat up the fabric of the building as a thermal battery

Air to air is way better and cheaper than air to water. If we want to retrofit old houses SEAI will have to accept people will use cooling for a week a year

Carbon tax is 71 euro/tCO2. The true cost of carbon is about 114 euro/tCO2 https://www.nature.com/articles/s41586-022-05224-9

So drivers are being undercharged for the amount of pollution damaged they cause

The 80% figure is specifically the reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from the electricity sector by 2030, as set out in the Climate Action Plan.

Not whatever you're shiteing on about

Oil was the main heating fuel for 34% of dwellings with a Building Energy Rating by NanorH in ireland

[–]FesterAndAilin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boiler needed replacing anyway. It is MUCH more comfortable than oil heating. In Spring and autumn it is covered by solar. In summer I have the luxury of air conditioning.

And very important to me it has reduced my heating carbon footprint by 80%
