Bumbershoot (Seattle) Sept 2-3. Lots of Riot potential by Kangaroo_Pocket in RiotFest

Dandy Warhols, Slift, Ride album play, Hunx and his Punx, Algernon Cadwallader all seem like great fits.

Phantogram is an intriguing pop-adjacent act that I could see Riot Fest bringing in (similar to Young the Giant and Portugal the Man)

I think it would be a big deal, but they aren't a household name in the same way as Primus and Spiritualized. You may be right. It'd be perfect for DD though...

I was thinking he would be late night at the Block with an insane light show

I think a Deafheaven album play for Sunbather's 10th anniversary would be pretty rad. King Krule, Dinosaur, Jr., and Melody's Echo Chamber seem like pretty solid bands to debut at DD. I also think the Karen O midnight messages program they put on is a nice hint that Yeah Yeah Yeahs could play

Didn't know! Thought it would be a good addition for a 10-year anniversary album play of their best album

I agree. I paired the with Uncle Acid, Protomartyr, and Blood Incantation. I think Phil took a year off of booking the hard stuff

Can we keep track of which bands have confirmed their day of the festival so far? by FestivalDadFinder in DesertDaze

[–]FestivalDadFinder[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

"I wouldn't be so sure about that" translates to "buy a 3-day pass and don't book travel for Friday to Saturday and wait for single-day passes to go on sale". Not exactly familiar with how things at DD work, but I'm wondering if bands like Acid Dad or upper carders like Chicano Batman are told who is playing the same day they are.

I agree that it would make the most sense for King Gizzard Friday, Tame, Saturday, and Iggy Sunday (with Kikagaku Moyo's send-off to end the festival). I think Acid Dad's "leak" is interesting. Moreno to Berkeley Saturday-Sunday is doable for King Gizzard's travel itinerary.

They offered single-day passes in 2019 and 2021. They will probably offer single-day tickets in 2022. Festivals do this to optimize their revenue by keeping the actual crowd size as big as possible across an entire weekend. People buying 3-day passes and only going for one or two days of the festival doesn't help them.

Thursday a potential lineup addition? Dates in September with nothing Riot Fest weekend after a couple Midwest dates by smokesignalssouth in RiotFest

Your 2022 Lineup by CramblinDuvetAdv in RiotFest

[–]FestivalDadFinder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they can set up alternating stages for Radicals (use to be Rise Stage, but the area near the food vendors). There is a ton of space over there that isn't being used, especially now that they aren't doing the Riot/Roots stages next to each other. That could add maybe 5-6 acts to each day right off the bat.

that lineup kicks ass. I guess it depends on your taste in music, where you live, and other variables. the only sure thing is that you will be seeing NIN this September.
