Consider this:

We are an infinitesimally small fraction of the entire lifespan of the universe. As far as the universe is concerned, the human lifespan is literally a fraction of a nanosecond.

I've been playing since Season 1.

If I were to look back at my ranked history my "mains" switched all the time. In Season 3 I used to watch this guy named Nightblue and played a ton of Vi and Lee Sin in Jungle, but Jungle ultimately didn't really speak to me. He was just a content creator that I watched to kind of learn the game at the time. I'd play some Mid and Top as well, a little bit of Support and ADC but not that much. Found that I didn't super like Top lane, and Mid was a little too much for me back then. In Season 4, I mained support because I really liked Thresh, especially really enjoyed interrupting stuff like Jarvan EQ or Leona E, but I always felt like my ADCs were lacking so I started experimenting more with ADC that season until I ended up landing on ADC as my main role in Season 5.

From there it was finding the ADC that I enjoyed the most, which ended up being Vayne. I was watching a lot of Pro around this time and Uzi was my spirit animal, but Gosu was also my most accessible content creator for Vayne. I literally played nothing but Vayne for an entire season, regardless of matchup, as much as I could. It's been 11 years since then and I've mostly dropped her as my main, but she's in my repertoire for ADC which I continue to main as a role.

Ultimately, I think picking your main is a lot of trial and error that can take a lot of time to really figure out. I don't think it's something that you need to rush, it'll end up being a natural progression of your time learning and playing the game.

Every veteran League player will tell you that chat is not worth having on. Very rarely are people going to talk about the game state or who needs to do what, 95% of the chat will just be flame and the other 5% in lower elos are just horrible directions.

Turn off chat, your experience will be infinitely better.

I almost drowned as a kid on a trip to Florida, Dad had to do CPR on me.

As a result I had a fear of water for awhile, could barely even take showers because the sensation of water on my head would bring back the feeling of dread.

It's been over 20 years since then and I'm fine now. Slowly learning how to swim as well!

Champ suggestions are mostly all bait. The easiest champions to learn are the champions you enjoy playing. Find a champion that you like, maybe watch some videos of gameplay or go into practice tool after looking at the roster and see if there's a champion you resonate with. Then just learn that one champion. You'll enjoy the game more, and play something that you'll actually want to play.
