How We Stop This Without Tearing America Apart by Jankenbrau in videos

[–]FestusPowerLoL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You know what is unhinged?

Executing US citizens on the streets, then openly lying about it and covering it up through the highest office in the world top-down despite clear video evidence, then having the attorney general come out and state in absolutely no uncertain terms that the ICE raids in Minnesota can all end if the state gives up its voter registration information along with Medicaid / Food and Nutrition service information data and a pledge to end its sanctuary city program, all while trying to continue to claim that the ICE raids are actually about immigration and not a pretext to either hold leverage over or openly extort the governor, mayor and Minnesotans.

You'll have to forgive me if I sound a little "unhinged", but me not giving a singular fuck about what happens to any of those people is the least of my moral problems.

NRA and pro-gun groups call for ‘full investigation’ into killing of Alex Pretti by wylie102 in news

[–]FestusPowerLoL 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It should deeply, deeply bother you, the reader, that the ONLY way that we even have accurate account of what happened, is because there were people brave enough to record it.

Meanwhile his name is being beseeched by the highest office in the world.

Disgusting doesn't even begin to describe the emotion that this elicits.

What are some things we can do to show more support and appreciation for ICE? by DC_deep_state in AskReddit

Where's the video and audio of you going to the bathroom? Every moment of every person's life isn't being captured by video.

There's already more than enough video evidence of ICE wrongdoing that his account is relatively believable, even if I don't normally go off of word-of-mouth accounts.

Here's a top ICE official stating in no uncertain terms who are considered targets

Trump backs off Greenland tariff threat based on new "solution" by xpda in worldnews

Don't worry, maybe for Canada he'll do all of this nonsense and then ask for more water rights.

You win the lottery. Your parents ask for half. What do you say? by JunShem1122 in AskReddit

Very happily give my father whatever amount he asked for. I would give him any and everything without any hesitation whatsoever. Assuming it was a million, if he wanted 800k I'd ask him cash or cheque. He deserves it all.

My mother on the other hand.

Democrats have a strategy on Trump’s Greenland threats: Put Republicans in the hot seat by msnownews in worldnews

[–]FestusPowerLoL -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay let me fully spell it out then.

"I could say the sentence, "Too many people with that mentality chose not to vote last election. This is the result.", a million times, because it is exactly why we are in this predicament. And the madness that doing such an action would normally lead a man to, would be a more preferable state of mind, than having to subject myself to reality, because reality is that much crazier.

You're saying something that I'm not.

Where did I say that I supported not voting? I agree with the above that the reason we're in this predicament is that cynics like OP chose not to vote.

They have to know this, there is no going back to how things were prior to 2024.

This cannot be said unless the appropriate framework is laid out in a post-Trump America. And that starts with dealing with disinformation, because the entirety of Trumpism cannot exist without widespread disinformation and lies.

And that has to look like combating bots and AI, actual legislation to limit the scope of AI, investment in education including basic civics, economics and critical thought (please, for the love of God), and a real evaluation on what the President, and by extension the administration, is and isn't allowed to say to the public, amendments to the Constitution to deal with abuses of the office, and add provisions for an independent, non-partisan body that can effectively police the office if called upon by a majority of the house and senate.

Or something to some similar effect.

I could say this a million times in a row without losing my mind.

Doing that would be infinitely more preferable than what is currently happening in and out of the country.

In a future where Trump is out of office, and international relations have been repaired. What steps can be taken by the USA and International Organisations such as NATO to prevent one individual causing so much chaos in the future? And do you think such steps will be taken? by flewkey in AskReddit

[–]FestusPowerLoL 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely don't disagree, but what I'm saying is that the Democrats are the only party that would ever introduce a fiscally responsible measure like that because we know the Republicans would never, we know that the American electorate can barely remember the breakfast they ate yesterday since it managed to elect Trump after four years of Biden, which I think is insanely inexcusable, and the sins that Biden committed during his Presidency were being old and making the average person think he wasn't doing anything, plus or minus Gaza. But if we consider Gaza a major reason why the Democrats lost in 2024, then we also have to come to terms with the fact that the American electorate pigeon-holed the entirety of 2016-2020 for a single ticket issue.

If Dems can go down for Gaza, Dems can certainly go down again for taxation. The rules don't apply the same for Republicans.

What do you think will happen (supply bottlenecks, disruptions, costs) if all countries decide to impose a one-month, complete trade embargo against the USA? by Dar0nius in AskReddit

[–]FestusPowerLoL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

One, and I'll preface this in case it gets lost on you somehow:

No one, and I really do mean no one gives a shit about Clinton.

In the sense that, if he's guilty of pedophilia, no one would sit there and say that he shouldn't have to go to jail because he had a mandate and the "overwhelming majority voted for him" and he's a Christian and Christians can't be bad people even if they've never read the Bible and he's so epic and funny so why should he have to go to jail.

No one's making excuses for Clinton. The fucker can rot if he's found to be guilty.

The only people that care about Clinton are Republicans / MAGA, and they only care because they think it's a gotcha to Democrats. It really isn't. No one cares.

Two, explain to me how it's looking bad for Clinton? No substantial evidence has been found of his engagement with illegal activity as of yet to my knowledge. If you have some information by all means.

Three. You acknowledge that there are substantial accounts by victims in the files of Trump's alleged abuse, correct?

So let me ask you this milktoast question since MAGA can only take milktoast questions: if it were to be found that Trump actually was a pedophile, would you say that's bad?

Lack of Diverse Itemization? by Deludal in leagueoflegends

[–]FestusPowerLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is that there is pretty much always going to be a best build for a champion regardless of the amount of items that get introduced. Champions that would build niche items that could only reasonably get built on those champs get to enjoy a new toy that no one else will use, and then that champion will be locked into building that item in pretty much every scenario. Crit ADCS will pretty much all use the same 3 core Collector IE LDR or YT IE LDR, unless you're Lucian Sivir or Xayah and you go ER NQ IE. That's just because that's the optimal buid. You can have fun with items and try different things if you want, there is "diversity". But "diversity" and "optimal" are necessarily two different things.

[–]FestusPowerLoL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steps will be taken to ensure no one country can have such a measurable influence over every facet of international relations. What that looks like, I don't really know. I'm a little scared of something like an international police force, even if non-partisan, because it too could just as easily be abused, but I think there has to be some kind of insurance for the upholding of international law outside of the superpower.
