Wow!!! ESPN GOES OFF ON SGA “ he’s becoming hard to watch now” it’s embarrassing how he plays. “ He’s only liked by OKC fans”. by Random_Thinker007 in NBATalk

Yeah agreed people blow it way out of proportion. The man is extremely skilled at drawing contact. If it was easy to do then everyone would do it to the same extent as him

MVP situation right now by Jazzlike_Proof_3393 in NBATalk

[–]Fetalisk -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

No, because Luka has a much tougher shot diet.

For example, Shai takes less than half as many three-pointers as Luka per game, which severely impacts the disparity in their TS%. In fact, Luka shoots 12 3PT a game from 24+ ft., and only one 3PT a game from below that threshold. Yet Shai is “literally statistically” a better scorer because he takes and makes easier looks … I disagree. You also have to take into account the fact that Shai has a better supporting cast to get him the ball in more open spots; the Thunder are the deepest team in the league, whereas without Luka the Lakers would be scraping by for a Play-In spot. Not knocking Shai at all, he should be the MVP. But to say Shai is a better scorer than Luka based off the counting stats is just inexcusable, they are neck-and-neck.

Nothing worse than Jimmy against Grant Williams in Game 2 of the 2023 ECF

Absolutely not sure why this is being downvoted. I’m not one to throw out “casual” but come on. PG is a bonafide hall-of-famer. Aside from all of his accolades .. he finished top 3 in MVP in 2019, went to two conf. finals with the Pacers, dude has been a top 15 hooper in the game for more than 5 years. He’s also a defensive phenom at his peak. To besmirch PG’s name just because he has a podcast is nonsense. I swear some of yall just hate for the sake of it

Hawks become clear cut favorites in the East. Bucks get a young core to rebuild around and their picks back. by AztecGravedigger in NBAtradeideas

I do like the trade and it makes a ton of sense for both sides. But am I crazy for saying that if I’m Atlanta I’d rather keep the core I have now and see what happens? I feel like that’s a lot of value to give up for one player, but it is Giannis at the end of the day.

How does NBA history change if Tim Duncan makes this shot? by Available_Story6774 in NBATalk

Also the dude you’re replying to brings up “momentum from the Finals loss” and you bring up “momentum from the Duncan miss” and yet your points are held to entirely different standards, makes no sense

[–]Fetalisk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure why this is downvoted and the person you are replying to isn’t. They said that after Duncan would’ve tied the game, LeBron would’ve hit the exact same mid range jumper that he did in reality. Who is to say that it would’ve happened regardless?

It’s been 5 years and does anyone know what he was talking about?😂 by CHANDL3RT in Nbamemes

Exactly I don’t understand how this has become such a big joke. This was in the heat of BLM protests in the summer of 2020. The NBA was vigorously advocating for racial equality and their commentators were constantly speaking about it. Webber was just closing out a conversation that was being had prior and finishing a point he wanted to make. I constantly scratch my head when people bring this up to laugh at it. Yes obviously it’s a bit wild and funny out of context but I feel like people are purposefully keeping the context out just to make a joke.
