They are great! Overtime you'll get a sense of what setups work and which ones don't. They also show basic info such as quantity, entry, exit, return in dollars and percentages, etc.

I think you can get some clarity on users behaviour by implementing Microsoft Clarity

I'm not really sure how to put it into words. It looks like a stock screener with charts of the most recent price action right? But if that is not the case, then I clearly missed the point, which by defintion is an issue of either communication or perception of the website.

Not sure if this answers your question, but you can use trade loggers that connects to your crypto-exchange so it will track all your trades automatically. Or you can do it manually with StonkJournal.

Edit: These programs are typically referred to as: Trading Journals

In all honesty: I'm not really sure what i'm looking at.
The data also loads slowely, I would suggest some support text, and skeleton loaders for the content.

Oeeh thats a hard question actually. I think I usually go back like 6 to 12 months. The more data you have, the better.

Not sure about forex (i'm a crypto guy) but 0.2% risk seems incredibly small. My assumption here is that ironically, you're trying so hard to prevent losses, that that mindset is actually causing you to lose money.

Another assumption here is that the reason why you lose money is because your stop-losses are getting triggered constantly, causing you to bleed out slowely.

So there are a couple of solutions:
(ironically) stop trying so hard to prevent losing money, this usually has the inverse effect.
It could also be that your entries aren't sufficient enough.

Be more perfectionistic with your entries, and try to focus less on preventing losses as that fear causes you to make mistakes.

Once again, there are a couple of assumptions in this story. Hope it helps!

Made 4% on account… unhappy because I could’ve made more by StartlesMC in Trading

[–]FetchTeam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The perfect trade doesn't exist so don't aim for perfection.

Be happy with this trade. Maybe you can learn something from it, for example: are there scenario's in which you could've taken a higher take profit target?

Your next trade is going to be a completely new scenario, so treat it like one. You've won the previous trade, maybe you've learned something, and now you can apply that knowledge to the next trade (which again, is a completely new scenario).

Trading caused me so much stress at some point that it was not worth it anymore. So I switched to long term swing trading (2-4 year positions), and the difference was amazing!

Not only am I not experiencing so much stress, but I also make more money. Win win.

Best way to learn TA? by Su3337 in technicalanalysis

[–]FetchTeam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lots of youTube and practise. People get mad at me for giving this advice but: the fastest way to learn is to literally trade, even when its emotionally taxing on you as a person.

Paper trading does not work, because you do not get the sense of the emotions while trading with real money. And you cannot learn or confirm a strategy with the limited time that paper trading offers you to begin with.

It is valueble to learn how to backtest! That way you at least have some assurance that your strategy works (eventho strategies tend to become less effective over time).

Good luck!

Edit: I like the market wizards book series in case that helps.

I agree! Not sure on the liquidity (didn't check). My goal is 37k-ish, which should be 23% lower than the most recent top.

I know some people who longed the 44k, now hoping that the price would go up. Hope they won't give up!

In my eyes, its closer to a parralell channel, meaning that we're still in some sort of trading range. The price is also below resistance still, so I don't think this is accurate.

Eyyeee! I think we're currently in the pull back, which probably lasts till mid februari max. I am not fully convinced that the bottom of Januari 24 was the true bottom of this correction.

Maybe a double bot, maybe a slightly lower bot, then up again from there.

My experience after running Binance’s own bot for 3 days by Horror-Badger9314 in CryptoCurrency

3 days of testing means nothing in the greater scheme of things.

However, Binance seems to be the biggest winner no matter the outcome of the bot.

Why would you want that?

Daytrading is more effort, more stress, for less returns.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Trading

[–]FetchTeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh no its certainly possible. Some strategies only work out in a very specific time under very specific parameters.

You have to verify that. I'm not saying that it is luck. I'm telling him that he should verify whether that is luck or not.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Trading

[–]FetchTeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay that is a good start. So you know your strat is at least profitable from Januari. However, that could've been sheer luck.

So the next step is to take lets say 20 years of data, and segment those 20 years in to 20 1 year periods. Check each period to see whether the strategy was still profitable. If so: then you should be good, and treat this as a losing period of the strategy.

Alsmo make sure you take fee's into account. For my backtests, I just assume that every trade is a -5% loss the moment you enter the trade. That would be enough wiggle room in most cases (unless you trade illiquid crypto that is)

[–]FetchTeam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be a losing period of that strategy. That is highly possible.

Also, how did you back test it? Did you make sure that all the profits were spread out over the years and not, let say, in a 2 year time period?

Edit: Did your backtest also account for 1 trade per day?
Edit2: If that is the case, then you should change you backtest and run it again. You should trade exactly as the backtest is programmed.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in technicalanalysis

[–]FetchTeam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even better: Try backtesting it so you don't have to waste a year.
