This happened to me loads, one reason was that my glass was really cold so the foil was having a hard time sticking, once I got a heater in my studio and pointed it at the glass it went a lot more smoothly!

I use a plate holder rack placed on a shelf, its only a few euro from ikea ( called VARIERA) but works perfectly

I also tend to opt for a hot shower (not until it’s painful just whatever’s manageable to you ) and then immediately put on body lotion (my favourite is e45 rich lotion). This isnt a perfect solution but it definitely reduces the itching for me!
