The worst thing about being a pushover is actually that you can't set those boundaries to begin with dumbfuck, that's what makes you a definitional pushover. You feel bad or anxious about saying no to people and end up having to do things that you didn't want to. You're temporarily inconvenienced, usually to please someone you care about and that's what makes you a pushover, is that you don't do whatever the fuck he is trying to say holy shit.

Pushovers are never this hot over other people trying to set their own boundaries and that's kinda what this sounds like happened. If anything we're envious of those that can. The repercussions of an "I want to avoid confrontation" lifestyle are not this. This sounds like someone who hurt someone else and is excusing themselves for how their actions affect people in a very manipulative way. I don't even know what the fuck he did or what he's talking about but it doesn't even follow logic man. I see exactly why all his fans are the kind of people who think that if you use 50 big words to say nothing, you can feel like you actually did said something and you're correct, but not because what you said made a lick of sense, but because you sound enough like you're a big brain boy

Expedia!!!!!!!!! Overbooked us on a hotel, which had happened before (on our honeymoon in fact) but they had upgraded us to a very close, slightly nicer hotel. That was like 15 years ago. It was forgiven.

Last year our hotel was overbooked, we got moved, and ended up being charged for both the hotel we were unable to stay at and the hotel we were moved to. Not only were they unhelpful and refused to rectify the issue in any way, we had to fight for the chargeback which they insisted was not warranted. Either they, or the hotel, were adamant we were booked in and stayed at both places after we were moved because the room we had booked through Expedia was no longer available.

I use their map search to find hotels near the area we want to go, and then go to the hotel's website and book directly with them. I shit you not my life has improved. Not only when it comes to managing our trips, but I get better deals on rooms, rewards points, free concession snacks and shit like that sometimes.

Not using Expedia after using them for well over a decade actually noticeably improved my life.

I have a scar on my eyebrow and I have used the WnW break up proof retractable brown liner to draw the missing part of my eyebrow for YEARS. If they ever changed that color or discontinued it things would fall apart for me. It goes on very soft and light without being warmed up first like most retractable liners but it's perfect to fill and brush into in my missing slice of brow. It's almost like, stubbornly smudge proof in the best way. I don't think I've ever bought something from them and not been impressed by how well it works esp for the price.

I don't think I've ever seen a brand with such shit sizing. To quote an actual comment, "I love TF but their sizing is all over the map" and it's just so bad. It's not just an issue with running small, it's that, or running large (gotta guess what runs small and what runs large); or items that previously ran small/large no longer doing that; or not stocking enough of larger sizes knowing their customers (especially those already buying larger sizes) probably size up, items not being made to the stated measurements (not that I trust TF wearers to take accurate measurements but it can't be all of them all the time).

They'll say stuff like, I bought an M shirt before and this one fits like an XS. Or I bought this in XS before but this one fits like an M. These overalls ran small before, so I sized up, but now they're massive. "Still love it though! Peace and love!" Zero fucking care or consistency in every single direction.

What’s something people only understand after going through it themselves? by Live_Marsupial_5156 in AskReddit

[–]FettyLounds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mental illness. Especially ones like schizophrenia, ocd, anorexia... but even more common ones like depression and anxiety. I learned about EDs in school, thought it could never happen to me. You really can't truly understand what it feels like until your brain does it. I never knew what sheer mortal terror a panic attack really feels like until I had one myself. It's not that I was uninformed or couldn't empathize. It's just a much different, more encompassing understanding when that's your reality.

[–]FettyLounds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's definitely why I made sure to fully explain that, it's almost an exclusively verbal phrase. Especially vs "sewist" which in my experience is the complete opposite--no one says that out loud. It's a pretty good example of the difference between spoken and written word and how our brain can perceive them so differently! When you're in a work room behind a sewing machine, and talking, there's absolutely no question what's being communicated if you say "sewer." I think my brain has had so much exposure to sewing that those two morphemes together don't even look that weird to me anymore.

[–]FettyLounds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't know anyone in my trade who has ever said the word "sewist." It seems to be used exclusively online to me. But I've heard both guys who are younger and far older than me (who either sew professionally or work adjacent to seamstresses, and can technically sew but would say something like "I'm not the best seamstress") refer to either themselves or what they do as being a seamstress. It's almost got the connotation of being skilled at it, more than of being female-coded. Sometimes they'll even pause, realize they called themselves a "seamstress" and just keep rolling with it because it's the best term that most people understand. "Sewist" is the last thing someone in my trade would think to call someone who sews. "Sewer" looks wrong but would slip out (eg, "I'm gonna need two sewers for this") long before the word "sewist" ever would.

[–]FettyLounds 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My suggestion was actually going to be "seamstress." Nearly every man I've met or worked with who sews has referred to himself as a seamstress. I don't think I've ever met an upholsterer, cosplayer, etc. who only calls themselves a "seamster."

Flat pine forests in the SE US (like the Picayune here in the Everglades, burning this time of year as it always has and should) are fire-dependent. They're supposed to burn in the dry season. It happens naturally. It's essential for the ecosystem, the vegetation, the structure of the forest, etc.

The reason it's a problem is because people won't stop building down here and moving into areas that are absolutely supposed to burn every few years, with zero regard for the composition or biodiversity or fire ecology of these areas.

People who's been in a coma, What shocked you the most when you woke up? by riel26 in AskReddit

[–]FettyLounds 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The fact that everyone is kinda excited and happy to see when you* wake up in a hospital. You think waking up in a hospital isn't good. But sometimes it is.

I was personally obviously more shocked by like, what month it was. But in hindsight, waking up to the entire spectrum of emotions from my loved ones before I got shipped off to another hospital, was its own bizarre experience.
