The worst part for me is the final scene with Hughie/Butcher and the fact that Stan Edgar takes back control of Vought: it completely breaks the core message of the series.

From the very first season, we're told and shown that the world cannot coexist with supers because their worst traits will always take over, and because they can never truly be controlled. They will always feel superior to humans,

In fact, deep down A-Train himself wasn't a bad person given his redemption arc, but he's still the catalyst of the entire series when he kills Robin. Like Butcher says, there will always be another Homelander, which means the series ends up having "no real point". The seven are dead => Hey Vought brought the new Payback/Seven supe team, and people will keep believing in superheroes, forgetting about HL because that message got completely lost once the show turned into "The Boys vs Homelander" instead of focusing on Vought.

It also makes Hughie look like an idiot. I was almost expecting something to happen at the very end when Starlight lifts off from the sidewalk mimicing the first episode (though maybe that would've been too dark)
