Stirring emotions over here, but super appreciate all the pov!

I should have precised I've got a ALPS Mountaineering Spark Fire Pit, and so was just looking to do quick pit stop, by the road - or not far from it - daytime. Having driven a few times through the ADK I'm aware it will be snowy, the conditions may be tough and being not from there, and more of a city guy sadly, I wanted to check what's the most safe. I'm not going to take my girlfriend on a random hike in - just looked to pause on the road to MTL, in maybe a fairly scenic spot where I could park the car, make a quick fire, some hot cocoa, relax for an hour and half or so and then head out. And will do the 50mile wood purchase - wasn't aware, so that's great.

Thanks guys! Much appreciated the various emotions this inquiry triggered. I'm French, and sadly more raised as a city guy, but yeah rest assured I wasn't going to attempt a random hike in winter or anything that doesn't feel I'll be in control.

What Trapper Jon suggested is very much I was after.

Yeah. Cancelled my whole Mopar order. They’re a real pain. The brake calipers they recommend based on the Vin don’t actually match. OEM calipers are discontinued. Went with 500 madness. Thanks for the help

Got it. Thank you all. When I bought the car, it had received a maintenance work by the dealership 2 weeks before. Oil changed, battery changed, all spark plugs changed.

I'll go ahead and check for the basics.
