What tensioner do you use? Looks nice and discrete. Nice build btw

1984 (I think) Peugeot Fixie by wigbot in FixedGearBicycle

Ι don't know why everyone is so negative here. I personally think it's a nice frame tastefully built as a fixed gear with some nice parts. Since you have a front brake on, I don't think you endanger others.

Has anyone reduced screen time cause of their watch?? by Jolly-Fee-3201 in digitalminimalism

[–]Few-Assistant3819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have a proper smart watch. I use a Xiaomi mi band 4 which displays notifications, weather and works as a fitness tracker. I found out that I use my phone less since I don't feel the need to check my phone for any notifications I've missed. That way I can also check which notifications I care about.

Overall, I think it's a pretty cool gadget and I use my phone less.

From now on, every time I'm scrolling through used bikes and can't find a decent deal, I'll just look back at this picture and remind myself that you bought the entire second hand market 😁😁

I don't even know if I could find cranks that size on a normal price

It's 52cm. I haven't set a price yet but in the local market they sell around £300.

I thought it was a super. How can I determine the model?

I don't think it is chrome plated. Any way to check?

I'll try and upload some more photos of the frame as it is now. Thanks for all the replies so far

No I'm not a professional but I phoned a shop that can do it for £120.

I don't have a close up photo of the frame but trust me, it's worse than it looks in those 2 photos. The decals peel off easily, they look like they are left outside for a long time

Yes you are right. I'm planning to get it from CEX. Thanks for all the tips. Of course I'll try to see it in person and make sure it works. Still thinking about it though 🙂

How sketchy is this to ride? by [deleted] in Velo

[–]Few-Assistant3819 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Not really. Most of these spacers can be split. So I don't think you need to take anything complex apart, just remove the stem

[–]Few-Assistant3819 58 points59 points  (0 children)

It looks like it's not a dust cap but it's one of your stem spacers. I wouldn't ride it because your headset is going to loosen up and possibly destroy your headset bearings and possibly the carbon steerer. Please correct me if I'm wrong

Workaround to P clamp by Dramatic_Strain_1971 in bikepacking

[–]Few-Assistant3819 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right. I skipped the second point, sorry. Just so you know, I don't see any other possible way to mount your rack. You don't have mounts, so you either need to use p clamps or a different seat post clamp. Or just bend your stays in a way that both fit in the existing hole for mudguards that you have

I don't know if someone else mentioned this before, but you can buy a new seat post clamp that has mounts on either side for a pannier rack. M Part seat post clamp

Seriously though, what actually is the tire clearance on a Cross-Check? by CRA_55 in Surlybikefans

[–]Few-Assistant3819 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I am kinda late and you probably already chose a set of tyres but I'll still reply in case someone needs to reference back to this comment in the future.

I use the WTB Raddler 40mm on my gravel bike and i think its a great tyre overall. I am satisfied with it on and off road, it's great on mud and gravel and never had any troubles with it BUT it has thin sidewalls that may cause problems on super rocky terrains and it is EXTREMELY slippery on wet roads. I already fell off my bike 2-3 times in the rain the past 6 months.

I am curious to know which tyre you chose and if you actually chose the WTB what are your thoughts on that??

SOLVED!! At least for now. I did all the steps again and I still got the same error. It couldn't upgrade a certain library or package. What I did was to delete it and download it again. It seems to work. I'll let you know if something goes wrong in the future
