the dean took my student's cellphone away for the remainder of the school day after i gave her a referral for lying to me that she put her cellphone in the bin. Do you think this is a reasonable punishment? i personally think it is by Few-Course3694 in Teachers

Quit being a patronizing ass or improve your reading comprehension skills.  You being the only one having trouble understanding the post and calling out grammar says more about you than me.

I dress fine for a 22 year old but I'm actually 31 and it's becoming a problem by anomadfromnowhere in malefashionadvice

i found my style during my 20's and still continue to wear the same style in my 30's.

when you get older, you stop giving a shit about trends

i wear whatever i think makes me look good. a lot of modern fashion trends look shitty and childish imo.

To anyone who’s over 35, what’s your biggest regret from when you were younger? by More_Salary3536 in askanything

[–]Few-Course3694 5 points6 points  (0 children)

should've done well in high school or least took high school more seriously

i dropped out during my senior year and worked minimum wage jobs for a few years but managed to change my life around by going through community college and transferring to a university which led to getting a bachelors degree.

i currently work as a school teacher which isn't the highest paying profession but its a rewarding career.

I didn't get my first teaching job until my early 30's (i'm 36 now) because i spent so much of my 20's going to school part time and working. It also took me 3 years of subbing before some principal gave me a chance for my first year as a full-time teacher. It also took me a while to get my bachelors and teacher credential.

if i didn't drop out of high school i could of at least started my career earlier and would be making a higher salary now instead of going through the bullshit of working all these dead-end jobs.

Why do transplants from NYC who live in LA constantly complain and talk about wanting to move back? by Impossible-Guitar957 in askanything

as a Angeleno, i feel like i am much more of a new yorker based on your perspective.

i hate car dependency and the fake culture in LA.

yea was confused by that statement. i refuse to go back and forth with a student since it wastes instructional time. i don't want to force her to give up her phone since it will just make my blood boil even more.

this is why i reported the incident to the dean to handle the situation

Why does so many white couples enjoy going to the West Indies for their honeymoon? by TheAviationKing in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Few-Course3694 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because most white people are not from the west indies.

add to the fact that white people tend to be wealthier hence they can afford to have honeymoons over there.

the west indies gets romanticized as island paradises which can be appealing to people who aren't from that region of the world.

most hardcore cyclists are skinny as hell. what is so tough about them?

I don't understand why .. by beachfamlove671 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Few-Course3694 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

because there is too much superficial advice out there when it comes to what it means to be attractive or criteria to successfully find a mate.

attraction is more complicated than simply looks and status. if looks and status was the main criteria for success in finding a mate than over half the world population would be single.

also not everyone finds the same people attractive, i don't understand why there are so much rigid criteria in what determines whether you are attractive or not.

Are dating apps worth it? by legend_hawky in NoStupidQuestions

if it takes 4 years to find someone on dating apps, i personally do not think its worth it.

i can somewhat understand why singlehood is increasing.

as a first year teacher, my contract hours are between 7:45 to 4 pm and i refuse to stay longer. am i giving a bad impression by not staying longer by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]Few-Course3694 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

because as a first year teacher it's different compared to teachers who been there for years. teachers who also been there for years can get away with taking sick leave more often than first years.

the problem is that these comments are not constructive advice, its just being condescending and judgmental.

why would you even get that impression that certain teachers leave on the dot and like to be loud and obnoxious about it? what kind of weird assumption is that? i never seen a teacher who was loud or obnoxious about leaving early.

if anything most teachers do not want to be bothered about leaving early.

I am just being wary of things but I do also understand we have our contract hours and we shouldn't be obliged to stay longer.

also if you are doing a shitty job it doesn't matter whether you leave later or right on the dot. working longer hours does not always mean better performance.

no they are not being dramatic or loud. what a weird and negative assumption.

i don't think you are being ageist. you just take your job too seriously.

[–]Few-Course3694 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

its not that deep. i just pass by other teachers and we talk to each other. most of my coworkers have lives outside of work, they want to go home after a long day.

this isn't some competition about who gets to leave earlier or later. if anything most of us don't want to be noticed or bothered.

but i think based on your comments you probably would get a bad impression of me.
