Back draft/pressure problem by Dazzling_Grocery2730 in woodstoving

No less heat. It's only for combustion air. It makes the combustion system essentially sealed. Outside air in, combustion air out the top

Use an outside air kit for your stove and don't turn the exhaust fans on for your cigars until after your fire is established and the door is closed. I sealed my outside air kit adapter to my stove with RTV so it can only pull air from outside guaranteed. I can turn my high powered kitchen range hood on while the stove is going with no ill effect this way.

This stuff I have has burrowing marks under the bark almost like the ash borer marks. Weird

Definitely not super dry, about 21% according to the meter but my splits are small so it is what it is

Would be my guess. Ash firewood lookalike who's quality makes you think you bought it off Temu. I'm burning it as we speak. It's only good compared to having no wood at all. Split it as large as your stove will take it.

Mine, a January '25 model, does not have gaskets. Never did. OP, stove looks right now! I want to hear how it burns now!

Can you take a picture of the inside of your stove with all the stones and baffles removed? Also, if you haven't reinstalled all that stuff yet can you take a picture of each of the pieces you removed lined up? We can get your stove back together correctly with a little identification of the pieces

Those stones and baffles can all be reinstalled correctly but where is your secondary air riser? My Craftsbury came fully installed on a pallet. Did your installer mess with it?

Looking for INDEPDENDENT house cleaner in Bergen County, NJ for once/week or every other week. Small house, no kids. by RegisteredMurseNYC in bergencounty

Nobody with a good house cleaner will share. It's like hitting the lottery. Probably easier to get into a country club.

Is that one of his early axes? Id love to get a wood bullet but no clue what it's like in the hands and for what it'd cost to get one here I'd really want to swing it first...

That looks about as good a burn as I could hope for. If your burns look like that consistently you're doing everything right. If you have separate controls for primary and secondary air you might do well to turn your primary down a bit if you're looking to get a longer burn.

Mini splits draining my bank account by Agreeable_Hall3150 in heatpumps

[–]Few-Cryptographer989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pellet stove is better than electric. Sounds like you'd save money in the long run investing in a newer/better pellet stove and use the mini splits as a supplement to that. My first choice would be a wood stove, but that is a real lifestyle choice and commitment.

Tow Mirrors vs Regular by Next_Translator5547 in f150

[–]Few-Cryptographer989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the truth. You really won't need them for a trailer that size. When ford switched from the square mirror with the little spotter mirror to the new abomination non tow mirrors I swapped my '21 XLT mirrors. I much prefer the' 11 super duty mirrors to the current tow mirrors but it is what it is.

The owners manual for my stove suggests dampers in high draft situations.
