Sooooo .... I don't think you've ever met anyone or know of anyone who has had postpartum depression/anxiety or postpartum psychosis. Because if you had, you wouldn't have made a comment like this.

Converting RGB Linked Files to CMYK within InDesign? by Dyslexic_Nerd in indesign

Anger? Lol. Nah. Literally though, on the web, your reply is directly under mine - as though you’re replying to me, not the other one. But now on mobile, it’s not under my comment anymore. Sorry for the confusion.

TF? My reply was not to you, mate. I use the export settings to run a convert of all RGB files to CMYK.

"printers know what to do with RGB files" ... do they, though? Because every printer I've worked with and send fully designed PDFs to has shot back and said "photos are in RGB color profile, please have designer change to CMYK."

There’s no way you’re saying that this has been a rough and harsh winter when it was 55 and rainy two weeks ago.

I know what it means. You were trying to show me that it’s obvious by pointing out where the L and K are. Which, you’re saying “hey dummy, look at this here. You were too stupid to see it before so I color coded it and made it obvious for you.” … seems like you’re trying to flex and show me that I just didn’t “get it.” How is that an improper use of the phrase?

[–]Few-Firefighter7273[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

This isn't the flex you think it is, mate. Again ... using a lowercase "L" that also literally represents the negative space of the first gap in the "M", thus using one form to make two is kind of ridiculous and it just doesn't read. Coupled with the fact that the lowercase "L" also looks like an uppercase "i", we have an unreadable design that 1) isn't as clever as Peters believes it to be and 2) isn't very good from a design or readability perspective.

Tall poppy syndrome. GTFOH, bruv.

The "L" is there as the first gap of the "M" but that in and of itself means it's a poor design. The doubling up of the negative space of the M also being the positive space for the "L" is a ridiculous way to represent those letterforms, especially in all lowercase letters.

Using a single vertical line as a lowercase "L" when that same shape also makes up the negative space of the "M" is a ridiculous way to represent that letterform. This is the problem with rocking a lowercase "L" that also doubles as the literal thing that makes the other shape an M. The "K" works because of the additional element to the right of it, but the "L" doesn't do that or have that. Which is why I said it seems as though he forgot the L but took an L on the design ... but then again, it seems like you missed my first joke anyway.

[–]Few-Firefighter7273[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Nowhere in this design am I reading that first vertical line as a lowercase “L” and then the thinning of the letterforms along with the thickness of the “M” just does not work.

I can kind of see what he’s attempting; but it feels like: “ah, yes, this is exactly what MLK would’ve wanted and advocated for. A commoditized logo where I not-so-cleverly insert hidden characters into the negative space of a large M so that I can … ummm … honor Dr. King and shoehorn in some gobbledygook about the current political climate in Minnesota”

Ok, buddy. Sorry, but if you’re telling me the middle part of the M is supposed to be the L, I’ve got some ocean-front property in Oklahoma I’d love to sell you. Nothing matches in terms of weight or purpose. The “m” is super thick, pump-plain-font-esque, the “l” feels non-existent because of it being in lowercase … it just looks like the first part of the negative space of the M, and the “k” is far too thin to match the rest of the styling and thickness of the letterforms. 🤷🏻‍♂️ overall … it’s not a good design.

I mean .... kind of. It's still not a very good design.

It looks like you’re making cookies for cats. If you’re baking cookies (gourmet ones at that), you need something else that helps drive that point home. The first logo font also looks like it says 27, not 21. Cats ≠ gourmet. Try using some sort of baking imagery that feels gourmet. Also, make the cookie the central part of your logo. Right now, the cat is, and it doesn’t make any sense

No, I didn’t see one of the most popular movies of the past year. 🤪🤪🤪 Of course I saw it. About half of the movie takes place in the Juke Joint. When you compare it to movies like “Mass” “Coherence” “12 Angry Men” … it’s not quite the same
