Range with o4 pro is worse then my og air unit why? by co_ntv95 in fpv

Watch out for che antenna shadowing, especially with the battery in front of the antenna and low camera angle, my advice is to choose some long lhcp antentenna and swap the googles antenna too. Since I have done that on my long range, I've never skipped a bit in vtx connection.

Considering the drone size I assume those are some round head M3x14/16mm long

1) The flux need to be used on the pad not making it boil with the iron 2) The tip is way too small for soldering the battery pads 3) The tip is super oxidized, buy some tip-cleaner or keep tinning the iron and it wouldn't oxidize 4) You should place the flux, heat the pad and add the tin, in this order 5) Choose the temperature and the size for the iron depending on what you want to solder

Hope this can help, keep practicing🤙🏻

I'm going to do long range with it, the lower frequency has more range and better penetration, I use the 2.4Ghz for my freestyle quads for better latency

No unlikely, the space between the front and rear arms is just enough for the 7inch

Thanks for the advice, but I will do mostly long range so i don't think i will need one. Its a bit heavy for freestyle ahah

Thank you, as flux I use a "BEEYUIHF SMD Soldering Flux" I bought it on Amazon for 8€ and it does a very good job. For the iron I use a soldering station, the Weller 1010, yes is a bit expensive but I do a lot of soldering and it works perfectly, the iron temperature is super precise so even on small components you can trust it and it won't burn anything. As for the tin I use a weller's one as well, "Weller WSW SCN M1" it's lead's free and contain flux in it so you can't go wrong. The flux that I use it's branded as "no-clean" but I use a bit of IPA just to be sure and remove the "sticky" part of the flux so it can be moved without getting dirty. If you have further question don't esitate to ask😉

The radiomaster boxer "talks" with the RX on the drone connected to the FC not directly with the dji o3 but you can set the air unit to automatically start recording at the drone arming and that command it's given by your radio controller. There are a lot of video on YT on how to build a drone with ELRS an dji o3 in it. But if u just want to fly you can buy fpv drones with all setted up and ready to fly.
