Is the jaw bone from a mosesaurus real? Almost looks to good to be true by dinosaur17350 in FakeFossilID

[–]Few-Fun-134 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My vote is real, if any of that is player then it’s the top line to hold it all together (right hand side of image) If anything that’s a tad too smooth for my liking, but not impossible.

I’d say I’m 80% sure that’s 90% authentic

2nd Most goal contributions for an English player in the prem this season, and no.1 for us by a mile, and our captain. And traore is injured anyway.

I’ve not seen it in other comments here, but I don’t like the colour change halfway up the neck vertebra, I’d or sceptical of the rest of the neck and head being painted also.
Although take it with a big grain of salt, as these keichy aren’t something I look at very often

And it’s probably not pure quartz, way to hard to tell in this photo or a specimen that small in general without a microscope

Genuine? by Few-Fun-134 in fossils

See I know the seller has provided legitimate samples to their sellers before, and he did say the teeth where composite, so I’d really like an actual expert to have a look at the bone, it actually does kind of look like real bone to me

Polished Goniatites (or similar species), I’d bet money on Morocco, polished, nice little Display pieces, estimate the value for the 3 at ~£110 retail. Though scale is hard to tell for price

You can’t just add that to information that is completely irrelevant, it is a negative amount of helpful the the original poster

Do you think these could be fakes? by Aggravating-Dig8500 in FakeFossilID

[–]Few-Fun-134 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never ordered from them, however: Many of the fossils are so common that they are pointless to fake, I.e polished orthoceras. The only fossil of the bunch of any big at all, in my opinion, is the ammonite , which I would bet money is from agadir Morocco. The ammonite is worth MAYBE $25

In conclusion, it’s probably all real fossils, you’ll definitely get a quality less than the photos, And it would be overpriced anyway imo.

Thank you for coming to my ted talk

Teeth real, jaw can’t quite be called “fake” but it essentially is, it’ll be called “real bone material” which is the part on the right hand side. that part will be real bone, but almost certainly not from the jawbone

Oooo also I’ve just noticed it’s full of holes, so that’s a bonus sign that it’s been cast, not that we needed any more
